This week, the cast of “Ghosts” has been jubilant on social media, and for good reason: The show has been renewed for two additional seasons! Just recently, CBS went on a series renewal spree, choosing nine shows in total. However, “Ghosts” undoubtedly received the most exciting news as it was confirmed that Seasons 5 and 6 will be produced. Upon hearing this, the cast – which includes Rose McIver, Utkarsh Ambudkar, Danielle Pinnock, among others – shared heartfelt, emotional, and humorous messages expressing their joy about returning to Woodstone Manor for two more seasons.
As Ghosts prepared to air an episode on the 2025 TV schedule that marked Rose McIver’s TV directorial debut, it also got news of its two-season renewal. So, it was a big week for the Sam actress, and she wrote about how “lucky” she feels in her Instagram post about Seasons 5 and 6:
I can hardly express my gratitude for still being able to produce this series. Immense appreciation goes out to CBS TV, our entire cast and crew, led by Joe Port and Emily Wiseman, and a big thank you to each and every viewer. We feel incredibly blessed.
Meanwhile, McIver’s on-screen husband, Utkarsh Ambudkar, kept it simple with his IG post. Using an image of a headline about the big CBS renewal spree, the Jay actor wrote:
44 more episodes of @ghostscbs !
Absolutely! This implies additional installments available for viewing on CBS, along with the opportunity to revisit them using a Paramount+ subscription. Furthermore, it offers more chances for us to tackle our Ghosts-related queries and delve into possibilities such as Jay potentially catching glimpses of spirits in the future.
There’s great promise in having another season, but having two is even greater! Not only that, but it ensures this exceptional cast will be employed for the next two years. Alberta-born actress Danielle Pinnock expressed her feelings about this news in a heartfelt social media post.
I’m weeping profusely at the moment. Securing TWO YEARS of stable work as an actor in today’s climate is quite unusual and a true gift. I’m incredibly thankful to be part of @GhostsCBS and to collaborate with the exceptional cast, crew, writers, showrunners, and producers on Broadcast TV. 👻😢
Along those same lines, Asher Grodman, who plays the eternally pantless Trevor, noted that this news means he gets to work with his pals for two more years. Overall, this massive ensemble seems to get along great, and their chemistry bursts off the screen. Their love for each other is palpable, and the Trevor actor’s IG post made that clear as he wrote:
As a movie enthusiast, I’m thrilled to share that we’re in for another two seasons of the captivating series, “Ghosts”! That means two more years filled with camaraderie and collaborative creativity with my exceptional cast members! A heartfelt thank you to every amazing soul behind the scenes who brings this show to life and makes each day on set a delight. Here’s to many more ghostly tales and shared laughter!
I’m not kidding the love this cast has for each other and this show is so real.
Many of them took to socials to post about how proud they were of McIver for directing this week’s episode while also reflecting on the renewal news. Pete actor Richie Moriarty did that as he complimented his co-star’s directorial abilities while also celebrating the two-season pick-up, writing in part on Instagram:
We’ve been selected for two additional seasons! I’m absolutely thrilled and filled with gratitude to carry on producing this series alongside such exceptional individuals. 💙 Ghosts 👻 💙
Actresses Rebecca Wisocky (Hetty) and Sheila Carrasco (Flower) shared a joyful Instagram post, praising McIver’s achievements and the series renewal. They posted a charming behind-the-scenes picture of the trio with an excited caption expressing their delight about this fantastic news.
