As a long-time fan of Skai Jackson’s work, especially her memorable role as Zuri in “Jessie” and “Bunk’d,” this recent news about her arrest at Universal Studios has come as a shock. It’s hard to believe that someone who brought so much joy and laughter to our screens could be involved in such an incident.
Former Disney Channel actress Skai Jackson was arrested while at Universal Studios on Friday.
Law enforcement handled a domestic dispute with Jackson around 5 p.m. on Friday, as reported by The Hollywood Reporter and subsequently confirmed by the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department. Initial investigations suggest that Jackson was identified as the main aggressor, leading to his arrest for alleged spousal battery. The details regarding any additional individuals involved in the incident remain undisclosed at this time.
The actress was escorted to the West Hollywood police headquarters for processing, and her file will be forwarded to the Van Nuys Courthouse for submission.
Representatives for the actress did not immediately respond to request for comment.
Jackson played Zuri in the Disney Channel show Jessie from 2011 until 2015. Later, she took on the character again for the initial three seasons of its spinoff, Bunk’d. Most recently, you can catch her in the thriller The Man in the White Van, which is scheduled to hit U.S. cinemas in October.
As someone who grew up in the ’70s and has always been fascinated by true crime stories, I can’t wait to see this upcoming movie. With Sean Austin, Ali Larter, and Madison Wolfe in the cast, it already sounds promising. The plot revolving around Annie Williams, a young girl stalked by a man in a white van, reminds me of some unsettling incidents from my childhood. I remember the fear that gripped our neighborhood when similar cases happened.
