The upcoming Marvel Cinematic Universe feature revolves around an exciting family of adventurers, each possessing extraordinary abilities: Sue Storm has the power to become invisible, her sibling Johnny Storm can ignite and fly, while Ben Grimm transforms into a powerful rock-like creature.
The idea, which many might find difficult not to mess up, was unfortunately mishandled by Hollywood. A movie based on Fantastic Four was released in 2005, and both it and its sequel received mediocre reviews. However, the criticism that followed the 2015 reboot of Marvel’s original family was overwhelming, to say the least. It was a catastrophic failure.
As a passionate cinephile, I can’t help but reflect on my experience with the film titled “Fantastic Four“, more precisely stylized as “Fant4stic“. This production saw a talented ensemble of rising stars in Hollywood: Miles Teller (as Reed), Kate Mara (as Sue), Michael B. Jordan (as Johnny), and Jamie Bell (as Ben). Unfortunately, the film that graced our screens wasn’t nearly as brilliant as these young talents deserved.
The production was fraught with challenges, the reviews were dishearteningly poor, and at the box office, it simply didn’t resonate with audiences. However, once the Marvel Cinematic Universe truly took off, a reboot of this franchise felt almost inevitable.
Commentators are wondering if members of the 2015 cast have any reservations about the new version. As for Kate Mara, she seems to hold no ill feelings – and there might be a significant explanation for this.
The curious commentators are asking what the former cast members feel about the recent remake. Kate Mara, however, doesn’t seem to harbor any resentment, and there could be a major factor behind her attitude.
Mara started dating Jamie Bell when they were both cast in Fantastic Four, which may be seen as a significant event leading to her current marital life. She’s quite fond of movies and enjoys watching them with her husband Jamie and their 11-year-old child. Given the opportunity, she would definitely watch the new Marvel movie on a big screen with an audience, appreciating the cast, particularly Pedro Pascal.
Both Mara And Bell Approve Of The MCU Fantastic Four
Last year, much like now, Kate Mara and Jamie Bell were queried about Marvel Cinematic Universe’s Fantastic Four before the trailers were released. Expressing enthusiasm, Mara said on behalf of both herself and her spouse, “We’re really excited about it.” Regarding the cast, she added, “It’s fantastic.
Bell subsequently commented, “To me, it doesn’t seem like a reboot since for a reboot to occur, there must have been something preceding it. Regrettably, our movie lacks such a connection to any established canon.” Afterward, he clarified his statement by saying, “It does belong to one specific canon, and that is the not-so-good canon.
Luckily, all signs point to The Fantastic Four: First Steps .
The Fantastic Four: First Steps will be released on July 25, 2025.
