As a seasoned gamer and collector of all things automotive, I can’t help but feel my heart racing with excitement at the news of Formula 1 teaming up with Hot Wheels! Growing up with the iconic toy cars and following the thrilling world of F1, this collaboration seems like a match made in heaven.
Formula One has entered into a long-term international agreement with Mattel’s Hot Wheels brand to produce a line of F1-inspired Hot Wheels toys, and these items are now open for advance purchase.
The partnership commences by introducing a special edition F1 car, now up for grabs on Mattel’s official store, adorned with a distinctive Hot Wheels livery and the number 68 to celebrate the toy company’s inception year. This 1:64 scale replica boasts a robust metal body frame, interchangeable tires, and an exclusive F1 mold design. A comprehensive collection of Hot Wheels F1 models, including team vehicles and supplementary goods, is slated for launch in 2025. Beyond the product line, Hot Wheels will be incorporated into selected Formula 1 Grand Prix events from 2025 onwards, offering fan-centric activities and unique shopping experiences.
Emily Prazer, the Chief Commercial Officer of F1, expressed that this collaboration with Mattel will blend the heart-pounding action of motor racing with the fun of toy cars. In a similar vein, Roberto Stanichi, Vice President of Hot Wheels, emphasized that partnering with Formula 1 is a logical and exhilarating choice. He explained it’s not just about manufacturing die-cast cars; it’s about delivering the F1 excitement to our global fanbase.
It’s important to mention that the very first collectible vehicle up for sale, with a price tag of $25 USD, is currently a pre-order and won’t be shipped out until no later than June 27, 2025.
