As a seasoned gamer with over two decades under my belt, I must say that Fortnite Chapter 6 Season 1 has certainly caught my attention with their new addition – Boons. These little perks, reminiscent of blessings from ancient temples, add an exciting twist to the gameplay without cluttering up our already jam-packed inventories.

These items are associated with actions like collecting Sprites, overcoming bosses, or uncovering uncommon treasures.
This article discusses how to grab Boons in Fortnite, Chapter 6, Season 1.
What Are Boons?
Benefits, or perks, are items that can be used up and provide immediate bonus effects on your character upon collection.
Unlike most loot I gather, these Boons don’t take up any space in my inventory, so I can amass numerous ones in a single game without having to compromise on my gear setup.
Each Boon comes with a unique spin that can influence the course of events. In our game, you’ll find four distinct types of Boons, tailored to accommodate various gaming approaches.
- Wind Boon: Moves you quicker with the pickaxe, great for fast rotations or getting out of tight spots.
- Water Boon: Restores health and shields you and your nearby teammates while swimming.
- Fire Boon: Cuts down reload time, giving you the upper hand in heated combat.
- Void Boon: Shows the positions of nearby players once you take down an opponent.
How To Get Boons
You can grab Boons in three ways, and each method brings something different to the table:
1. Sprite Shrines and Sprites
One of the best ways to collect Boons is by visiting Sprite Shrines around the map.
Sprites are tiny mystical beings that wander through the map, typically in secluded, untamed regions far from key locations.
They are categorized into three types:
- Air Sprite: When thrown, this creates a vortex, which can be used for redeployment or damaging enemy structures.
- Water Sprite: Provides healing for shields and health.
- Earth Sprite: Consumes items and rewards players with valuable loot.
To turn a Sprite into a Boon, take it to a Sprite Shrine scattered around the map.
When you bring a Sprite back to the Shrine, it will become active, dispensing rewards in the form of loot, as well as bestowing a Boon that is connected to the Sprite.
For example, giving an Air Sprite will reward you with the Wind Boon.
As a gamer, I find that having a Sprite with me makes it easy to locate Shrines. My on-screen display (HUD) conveniently marks the closest one for me. Here are some spots where I’ve found Shrines:
- Magic Mosses
- Canyon Crossing and Warrior’s Watch
- Shogun’s Solitude
- Masked Meadows and Foxy Floodgate
2. Defeating Bosses
In Chapter 6, the boss confrontations have undergone a refresh, and certain skirmishes now provide chances to secure Boons.
When you take down bosses like Shogun X and Night Rose, they drop Boons.
The rewards you receive from them tend to vary based on the specific boss, often unpredictably so. Prepare for intense battles against bosses boasting substantial health reserves and potent assaults.
3. Looting Elemental Chests
Elemental Chests serve as additional methods for acquiring Boons. They are easily identifiable by their unique, radiant gleam and can be discovered scattered throughout the map.
There’s a possibility that Boons may appear, but their appearance isn’t consistent or guaranteed in this method. In other words, while you might get lucky, this strategy isn’t always dependable when it comes to gathering them.
Open as many Elemental Chests as possible throughout your match for the best results.
In team-based modes, bonuses persist throughout the game and continue after a restart, ensuring that you’ll still benefit from their advantages.
Because they’re passive by nature, you can focus solely on the gameplay without having to worry about managing them in your inventory. By the way, have you found any new Sprite Shrine locations recently?
