As a seasoned Fortnite player with countless hours under my belt, I can confidently say that the introduction of the Nightshift Forest vault in Chapter 6 Season 1 has undeniably shaken up the game. This glowing purple biome on the map’s western side has become a beacon for players seeking top-tier loot.
In Fortnite Chapter 6 Season 1, a fresh vault has been incorporated within Nightshift Forest, housing some of the top-tier loot across the entire island.
Although this vault doesn’t have a boss like in past seasons, it’s not exactly a breeze either.
This article covers everything you need to know to open the vault in Nightshift Forest.
How to Open the Vault in Nightshift Forest
Nightshift Forest is a large, glowing purple biome on the map’s western side.
The treasure trove is directly in the heart of the woods, close to the principal structure. Look for the locked entrance at the base of the stairs to gain access to this highly desired loot location.
To start unlocking the vault, you need to find a Sprite, a new collectible this season.
You can often spot them near Sprite Shrines, where beams of white light shoot up into the sky.
Head south from Nightshift Forest to find the nearest shrine, near Warrior’s Watch.
Once you reach a shrine, interact to expose the locations of the nearby Sprites.
Approach the Sprite quietly since it’s tricky to see in the dark, then select “Take” or “Gather” to put it in your collection.
As you go, the sprite will tag along with you. Now it’s time to locate Bushranger, the non-player character who possesses the Vault Key.
In the Nightshift Forest, you won’t find a specific starting location for the Bushranger, instead, he wanders near any of the three Tanuki Statues.
These statues are scattered across the forest’s northeastern, northwestern, and southern regions.
Use the Characters menu in-game to find his current location quickly.
As a devoted admirer, I always remind myself that Bushranger thrives under the cover of darkness. Therefore, it’s crucial to adjust my in-game schedule to suit his nocturnal nature before embarking on my adventure.
When you find Bushranger, approach him and select the “Display Item” option when you have your Sprite in hand.
He’ll accept the Sprite as a trade and reward you with the Vault Key.
Make sure you have the Sprite equipped for this interaction, as using any other item won’t work.
In simple terms, when you engage in trading with Bushranger, it’s as if the Nightshift Forest transforms into the Dayshift Forest. This transformation signifies that the key has been successfully claimed.
With the Vault Key now in hand, navigate towards the heart of Nightshift Forest to eventually come across the vault door.
Make your way downstairs to get to the entrance, then use the key to open the door once it’s free. Inside, you’ll find the desired treasure waiting for you.
In the Nightshift Forest Vault, there’s a trove brimming with valuable loot that could shift the balance in any game. Here’s what you’ll discover:
- Rare and elemental chests filled with weapons, shields, and healing supplies.
- Ammo boxes and Slurp Barrels to top off your shields.
- A rare Typhoon Blade that increases agility and grants powerful melee abilities, including a slam attack and mid-air dash.
This combination of items makes the vault ideal for solo players and squads.
It provides enough gear to fully equip your team for the rest of the game.
Since the vault’s popularity is soaring, be cautious because other players could attempt to surprise-attack you when you’re gathering loot. Stay alert!
