Fortnite’s Battle Pass overhaul praised as the best update ever

As a long-time Fortnite player with countless hours logged into this battle royale phenomenon, I must say that Epic Games’ latest announcement about Battle Pass skins coming to the store is music to my weary grinding ears! After years of feeling the FOMO (Fear Of Missing Out) every time a new Battle Pass ended, I can finally breathe a sigh of relief knowing that I have another chance at snagging my favorite outfits in the future.

A common complaint about Fortnite, with its focus on cosmetics, is the fear of missing out (FOMO) on completing every Battle Pass available. Some of the top-quality skins are among the best in the game, but constantly working through the challenges for each Chapter can be quite challenging and demanding at times.

Numerous Fortnite Battle Pass character skins have appeared, been preserved, and are now permanently out of circulation (Farewell, Dark Knight).

Instead, you no longer need to stress about FOMO (Fear of Missing Out) since Epic Games has disclosed that Battle Pass skins will now be available in their online store.

In a recent announcement, Epic Games shared that starting from Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 3, skins obtained through the Battle Pass can additionally be made available for purchase in the game’s shop.

After a period of at least 18 months following the end of the Battle Pass, the skins will become available for purchase within the in-game store, providing an opportunity for you to acquire your preferred outfits in the future.

One explanation for making this adjustment is our intention to ensure future players can appreciate the Battle Pass content, including outfits inspired by well-known licensed characters, as stated by Epic in their blog post.

Enthusiasts promptly praised this move, even though a few concerns linger about its potential impact on the Battle Pass in future events.

“Nick Eh 30, the mind behind Fortnite, expressed his excitement about a change: ‘It’s unfortunate for fans of games/movies who have licensed IP skins, like Marvel and DC, not being able to get them again in the game. But this significant change is great!'”

Ali “SypherPK” Hassan expressed, “This victory benefits everyone. Speaking from my perspective as the owner of every Battle Pass, I encourage allowing people to acquire their preferred cosmetics.”

ONE OF THE BEST DECISIONS YOU’VE MADE, WELL DONE FORTNITE,” added popular leaguer JorgeMost.

The Catch…

In this situation, some important characters from previous Battle Passes won’t be returning, such as Midas, Spider-Man (Season 1, Chapter 3), Mizuki, and the original Renegade Raider, who is also known as the OG queen. These characters were not included in this update.

Still, there remains value in the Battle Pass.

“A different fan noted that you receive over 30,000 VBucks as reward for a purchase of just 950 (plus an 18-month head start). However, when the items eventually appear in the shop following almost a two-year wait, they will cost their full price each. Despite this, Battle Passes remain worthwhile since they offer opportunities for anyone to acquire items and collaborations in the future.”

In this blog post, it is made clear that not every single item will make it to the store. This means there’s a chance you may miss out on some of the emotes, but it’s probable that the most significant collaborations and Tier 100 skins will be brought back again.
