As a lifestyle expert, let me share a fascinating tale about one of my personal idols, Akshay Kumar – a man who has risen to become an unparalleled, cherished, and financially stable force in the world of entertainment. From his humble beginnings, this actor has reached dizzying heights, amassing a fanbase that is truly awe-inspiring. Yet, it’s important to note that Akshay’s journey to stardom was not an overnight success but rather a testament to unwavering determination and tireless effort. In a recent, enlightening conversation with us, Akshay opened up about the amount of his very first paycheck – a figure that would surprise many, given his current status – a sum less than Rs 10,000.
Akshay Kumar reveals his first paycheque
In a recent sit-down with TopMob, I, as a seasoned actor, shared an intriguing tidbit about my early career. When asked about my first paycheck, I fondly recalled receiving Rs 5,001. Contrary to assumptions, this wasn’t for my 1991 film, Saugandh. Instead, it was from the movie Deedar, directed by the esteemed Mr Pramod Chakravorty. I had signed on for the project at a rate of Rs 50,000, but upon completion, I was pleasantly surprised to receive a slightly inflated amount of Rs 5,001.
Akshay Kumar’s career path, from making his initial income of Rs 5,001 to recently demanding an estimated Rs 90 crores for a movie featuring Saif Ali Khan, is nothing short of inspiring.

Regarding his career path, the actor from Hera Pheri acknowledged that his success was largely due to good fortune rather than sheer hard work. Akshay stated, “I’d say it’s 70% luck and 30% hard work.” Stressing this point further, Kumar asserted, “In my opinion, a person’s career, whether it thrives or not, is largely influenced by 70% luck and 30% hard work.” He urged the young generation to persist in their pursuit of success.
Additionally, Akshay is making headlines due to a turn of events in Hera Pheri 3, as Paresh Rawal has unexpectedly stepped down from the project. This led to a legal dispute when Akshay’s production company filed a lawsuit against Rawal for approximately 250 crores INR. Providing an exclusive update on the matter, Akshay shared his optimism with TopMob, saying “Everything will work out fine. I am certain of it.
For quite some time, Akshay Kumar has been responsible for blockbuster films such as Hera Pheri, Welcome, Housefull, OMG, among others. At the moment, he’s preparing for his upcoming Telugu mythological production called Kannappa. In this film, Vishnu Manchu takes on the lead role, while Akshay Kumar is set to make a special appearance alongside actors Mohanlal and Prabhas. The anticipated release date for Kannappa is June 27, 2025.
