Under the guidance of Palestinian activist Basel Adra and Israeli journalist Yuval Abraham, the documentary No Other Land follows Adra’s mission to explore the destruction of his native town, which has been repurposed for military exercises. As their collaboration grows, Adra’s campaign to shine a light on this issue gains traction with the assistance of Abraham.

In this version, I aimed to make the text more conversational and easier to understand by using terms like “follows” instead of “chronicles” and replacing “gains momentum” with “becomes more prominent.” Additionally, I replaced “examine” with “explore” to give a sense of adventure in Adra’s journey.

The film titled “No Other Land” premiered at the 2023 Berlinale and managed to secure both the Panorama Audience Award and the esteemed Berlinale Documentary Award. Since its initial screening, it has amassed an impressive 68 awards across various film festivals. Recognition came from notable bodies such as the Boston Society of Film Critics, European Film Awards, and Gotham Awards. Ultimately, at the 2025 Oscars, it clinched the award for best documentary feature, marking a unique achievement as it became the first documentary to win an Academy Award without a domestic distribution company involved.

Despite facing difficulties in finding U.S. distribution, the filmmakers chose an alternative route by self-distributing their movie, teaming up with Cinetic Media who helped arrange theater screenings. The film made its debut on February 2 on a solitary screen, earning $26,000 and maintaining its success for four more weeks, surpassing the $1.2 million milestone and eventually being shown on 120 screens.

This year, Front Row unveiled its second Netflix original film, titled “The Sand Castle“, which climbed into the top 10 rankings in more than 77 countries on the streaming platform for a fortnight. The company has also recently debuted films that have been generating awards buzz such as “The Substance“, “The Apprentice“, and “Emilia Pérez“. Additionally, they’ve launched politically charged projects like “20 Days in Mariupol“, “Holy Spider” by Ali Abbasi, and “Where Do We Go Now” by Nadine Labaki.

Gianluca Chakra, head of Front Row Filmed Entertainment, stated: “Amidst many prevailing stories, it’s crucial to listen to different voices. This film provides a distinctive viewpoint, gathering filmmakers bound by a shared sense of justice. The visuals displayed are compelling and unprecedented. It’s our responsibility to ensure the public gets to witness this. Through these filmmakers’ lenses, the camera becomes a powerful instrument for truth and resilience, preserving the tale of their village.

Front Row is about to debut their new movie in selected cinemas soon, with a high-tier Video On Demand launch following in theaters across the Middle East and North Africa.
