‘Frozen 3’ to Hit Theaters Over Thanksgiving in 2027

As a gamer with years of experience under my belt and a heart that beats for Disney classics, I must say, the announcement of Frozen 3 coming to theaters on Nov. 24, 2027 feels like Christmas has come early! The first two films were nothing short of magical, and I can’t wait to see how the story unfolds further for Elsa, Anna, Olaf, and the rest of the Arendelle crew.

Frozen 3 will skate into theaters on Nov. 24, 2027.

The official announcement was made several days following when Jennifer Lee, head of creative at Walt Disney Animation, unveiled the initial sketches for Frozen 3 at D23. During this event, she also disclosed that the film would hit theaters sometime in 2027.

As previously announced, she confirmed a fourth film is also in the works.

The Disney franchise based on “Frozen” has proven to be a blessing for the company and a traditional choice for Thanksgiving viewing. The original movie released in 2013, featuring Kristen Bell and Idina Menzel, generated a staggering $1.28 billion, while the sequel from 2019, “Frozen II”, brought in an even more impressive $1.45 billion.

The third installment of “Frozen,” initially slated for release in 2026, has encountered setbacks similar to other big-screen events, primarily due to the pandemic and labor disputes. Jennifer Lee, who collaborated with Chris Buck on scripting and co-directing the first two films, will reportedly continue her role in “Frozen 3.”

The “Frozen” movies narrate the story of two princess sisters who become orphans when their parents, the king and queen of Arendelle, pass away. Elsa, voiced by Menzel, ascends to the throne but her powerful ice abilities create significant hurdles. Bell provides Anna’s voice, who is Elsa’s adored younger sister.

At D23, the displayed artwork depicted Elsa riding alone on a horse, whereas Anna was seen riding a horse alongside her beloved snowman character, Olaf, who is famously voiced by Josh Gad.

Disney has revealed that the animated film “Hoppers” from Pixar is set to release on March 6, 2026. This project was unveiled at D23, featuring Jon Hamm and Bobby Moynihan as voice actors in a body-swapping storyline where a beaver and a human character switch places.

The production houses have once again confirmed that James Cameron’s upcoming film in the 20th century, titled “Avatar: Fire and Ash“, will be released on December 19, 2025, as previously announced.
