As a lifelong WWE enthusiast who’s been following the industry since the days of Hulkamania and Macho Man, let me share my insights on the upcoming Crown Jewel event.
Triple H typically chooses fewer matches per event when it comes to PLEs since he assumed creative control from Vince McMahon; however, this year’s Crown Jewel might lead you to believe otherwise with its lineup of seven matches. This Saudi Arabia-based PPV includes a triple threat match, a fatal four way tag team battle, and a six man tag team contest. If you account for managers, escorts, and potential interferers, there are currently twenty-five performers scheduled to participate in actual matches.
It’s important to clarify that I’m not expressing dissatisfaction. In fact, this card surpasses our usual expectations for Saudi PPVs by several levels. The central theme of the show is particularly impressive, as it features two World Champions from both the men’s and women’s divisions – one who typically fights on SmackDown, and one who typically fights on Raw.
In this upcoming event known as Crown Jewel, these champions will be wrestling without their personal titles at stake. This unique tournament not only offers bragging rights but also features a stunningly ornate championship belt. So, the matchups for this event are Gunther facing off against Cody Rhodes, and Nia Jax battling Liv Morgan.
In addition, we’ll be moving forward with the upcoming installment in The Bloodline Saga. This segment will showcase Roman Reigns, Jimmy Uso, and Jey Uso joining forces against three members of The Bloodline. Potential participants might include Solo Sikoa, Jacob Fatu, Tama Tonga, and Tonga Loa. Prepare for the events to culminate in a Survivor Series WarGames match coming up next month.
Let me share my past performance on predictions before we discuss future possibilities. Since WrestleMania 38, I’ve made predictions for every PPV event, and unfortunately, Bad Blood was the first time I ended up with more losses than wins. It’s part of the wrestling game – sometimes you need to experience defeats to make your eventual victories even sweeter as you climb back up.
Randy Orton Vs Kevin Owens
Currently, numerous wrestling enthusiasts are speculating about possible collaborations between Cody Rhodes and Randy Orton, or even Kevin Owens, during WrestleMania. However, let’s take a moment to focus on the essential details. Firstly, Owens harbors resentment towards Rhodes due to his decision to team up with Roman Reigns, given their past. This led to a heated argument culminating in Owens striking Rhodes. Orton initially attempted to mediate but eventually backed Rhodes, resulting in the upcoming match at Crown Jewel.
In essence, it appears that the upcoming match will likely involve Owens versus Rhodes, setting up their confrontation as the probable next event. However, if Orton emerges victorious, there might not be another match for Owens to advance towards since he would have lost to his current obstacle, Orton. Consequently, I believe KO needs to win this encounter to maintain the storyline’s momentum, or else Orton could betray Rhodes, escalating the conflict into something larger.
Predicted Winner: KO
Seth Freakin’ Rollins Vs Bronson Reed
Over the past few months, Bronson Reed has been given tougher challenges by Triple H and his team than he’s ever faced during his WWE career. If he wants to break into the main event scene, now is the perfect opportunity. He can’t keep hurting people on Monday Night Raw and appearing as a threat without consequences, then lose his first one-on-one match in a WWE main roster pay-per-view. A victory here, especially if it’s decisive, would establish him as a serious title contender for the world championship.
Regarding the upcoming events, there’s quite a bit of uncertainty. WWE highly values Seth Rollins as one of their top talents, but he hasn’t secured a victory on PPV since Survivor Series 2023, which is close to an entire year. This could potentially lead to a WrestleMania face-off with CM Punk (perhaps for the World Heavyweight Championship). Ideally, both wrestlers would enter this match in top form.
As a gamer, I believe we’ve got enough time to elevate Bronson Reed before WrestleMania without compromising Seth Rollins’ build. However, Triple H’s recent years have shown that while he occasionally shakes things up for fans, his preference is to keep the top dogs in the company looking unbeatable and dominant.
Predicted Winner: Seth Freakin’ Rollins
LA Knight (Champ) Vs Carmelo Hayes Vs Andrade For The United States Championship
Andrade and Carmelo Hayes have transformed their ring dynamics into one of the top mid-card rivalries currently ongoing. Fans have been captivated by six top-notch matches (one of which was cut short due to outside interference). Now, LA Knight has entered the picture, providing an opportunity to defend his title in a pay-per-view match against two wrestlers who can deliver a fantastic ring performance.
Although Knight has toned down somewhat from his peak when he was undeniably one of the most popular wrestlers across all platforms, 95% of WWE’s roster would still be thrilled to have the level of popularity that he enjoys, with Andrade and Carmelo Hayes among them. Despite their growing profiles and reputations, they haven’t quite managed to fully capture the crowd’s hearts yet. As for LA Knight, it remains uncertain how much longer he’ll keep the United States Championship; however, if he does lose it, I believe it will be in a more significant moment than this one.
Predicted Winner: LA Knight
Bianca Belair And Jade Cargill (Champions) Vs Iyo Sky and Kairi Sane Vs Chelsea Green And Piper Niven Vs Lash Legend And Jakara Jackson For The Women’s Tag Team Championships
Disregard discussions about Bloodline matters or who Cody Rhodes might fight at WrestleMania. The wrestling community seems to have a strong consensus that Bianca Belair and Jade Cargill will eventually have a falling out and engage in a feud, perhaps before WrestleMania. This is the prediction most of us are confident about. (Also possible for CM Punk and Seth Rollins to dance at ‘Mania.)
As a devoted fan, I can’t help but ponder when the unexpected betrayal or underhanded moves might surface. Throughout my years of wrestling fandom, I’ve learned that six months is an unusually long duration for a feud to brew. It seems too extended; there hasn’t been enough tension yet for them to turn on each other.
By the way, I’ve heard some opinions suggesting that Bianca and Jade might not be an authentic tag team and could be keeping the titles as a means to fuel their future rivalry. I understand where those thoughts come from, but it’s undeniable that due to Bianca and Jade, these titles are regularly featured on pay-per-views. They truly shine. In fact, all the women competing in this match get to showcase themselves on pay-per-views because they’re part of the tag team division.
Predicted Winner: Bianca Belair And Jade Cargill
Roman Reigns And The Usos Vs 3/4ths Of Solo Sikoa, Jacob Fatu, Tama Tonga And Tonga Loa
Previously this month while penning my speculations about Bad Blood, I mentioned that I believed Solo Sikoa and Jacob Fatu would defeat Roman Reigns and Cody Rhodes due to WWE needing to establish the New Bloodline as a formidable force. To create a genuine conflict between New Bloodline and Old Bloodline, viewers should perceive the New Bloodline as a significant danger. However, it didn’t turn out that way. Instead, Roman Reigns and Cody Rhodes emerged victorious, and now both Usos have returned to the original Bloodline, bolstering Roman’s power even more.
Here’s a possible paraphrasing of your text:
Predicted Winner: New Bloodline
Nia Jax Vs Liv Morgan For The Crown Jewel Championship
It seems like Tiffy’s time might be here, or so it appears. The winner of Money In The Bank has hinted at cashing in her briefcase on multiple occasions, but Crown Jewel presents the most fitting scenario for her character and offers the highest level of drama for viewers. This is because, if she steps into the ring, we won’t be able to predict whether she’s there to betray her friend-rival Nia Jax or to carry out orders and cash in on Liv Morgan instead.
It appears that many spectators anticipate that she might backstab Nia due to the champion’s growing bond with Candice LeRae. However, it’s not entirely clear if this will happen, but it seems like the most probable scenario given that Rhea Ripley and Liv Morgan still seem to have unresolved issues, making their feud even more intriguing since Liv is the current champion. This situation could potentially lead to a Survivor Series rematch between Stratton (Rhea Ripley) and Jax, which I believe fans would find more engaging than a match between Stratton and Morgan.
Predicted Winner: Tiffany Stratton
Cody Rhodes Vs Gunther For The Crown Jewel Championship
For the past fortnight, there’s been a buzz suggesting that Goldberg might meddle in this bout, potentially leading to a conflict between him and Gunther later on. Some indications of this are present, as Gunther previously mentioned Goldberg during a promo and had a run-in with him at Bad Blood. While it’s debatable whether hardcore fans are eager for such a storyline, Goldberg still carries significant clout, and a match with The Ring General would spark much discussion and curiosity among casual viewers.
There’s a potential scenario where Kevin Owens or Randy Orton could disrupt this match, potentially causing Cody to lose. From a narrative standpoint, I find this situation more captivating because I’m curious about what’s unfolding there. However, it’s tough for me to bet against Cody Rhodes in this case because he’s the main figure of WWE. Roman Reigns might be the biggest name, but Cody is the one who embodies the spirit of WWE. He’s the one who signs autographs and visits small towns. Essentially, WWE is investing in him, and it seems logical to award him the first Crown Jewel Championship if they want to make it as significant as possible.
Predicted Winner: Cody Rhodes
heads up: The Crown Jewel event is scheduled to start earlier this Saturday due to its location in Saudi Arabia. You can watch it for free using a Peacock streaming subscription, or through various other global viewing options.
