In about two months, WrestleMania is just around the corner, and currently, only two matches have been confirmed. However, we can expect approximately fourteen matches during the event itself, so there’s plenty of planning for Triple H and the writers to do. Fortunately, it seems they plan to use the Elimination Chamber Pay-Per-View to establish several more matchups.
In simpler terms, I’m indicating that multiple contestants will advance from the Chamber since we’re certain two spots are reserved. The victor of the men’s match will challenge Cody Rhodes for the WWE Championship, and the female winner will square off against Rhea Ripley for the Women’s World Championship. While these battles are undoubtedly the main events, several defeated competitors may be developing their characters and hitting narrative milestones that could lead to future WrestleMania matches.
Beyond just predicting who will win these upcoming matches, I’ll also delve into potential plotlines that might unfold. While I’m not privy to the writers’ inner circle or their specific plans for every character, there seems to be enough clues to make educated guesses based on evidence.
First, let me share a fascinating fact: Since I began making predictions for every PLE (Pay-Per-View Event) post WrestleMania 38, I’ve been quite accurate, reaching an upper midcard level of accuracy. It’s quite impressive, don’t you think? Perhaps I’m not as exceptional as Damian Priest, but maybe I’m comparable to Bam Bam Bigelow or even The British Bulldog in my prediction skills. Imagine your favorite upper midcard wrestler – that’s the level of accuracy I’ve been able to achieve!
Tiffany Stratton and Trish Stratus Vs Nia Jax and Candice LeRae
Tiffany Stratton is set to compete in one of the confirmed matches for WrestleMania, where she’ll be squaring off against Charlotte Flair – a highly prominent encounter for her career. This bout serves as an opportunity for Stratton to establish herself as a consistent main event contender. It’s crucial to highlight this aspect, given some underwhelming comments she made during last week’s SmackDown. WWE aims to emphasize that Stratton is on the rise and has significant long-term potential compared to most other wrestlers in the roster, with Rhea, Bianca, and perhaps Iyo being exceptions – though this could be debatable.
In essence, our objective for this match is twofold: Firstly, we aim to showcase Tiffy as a potential future Hall of Famer, and secondly, we want to create another unforgettable WWE moment for Canadian icon Trish Stratus, marking her 25th anniversary in the WWE at Toronto’s Skydome, by securing a win for her. While it is possible that Charlotte could insert herself into the match to further the storyline, I find such an outcome unlikely. Instead, I believe a clean victory for both Tiffy and Trishy would be more fitting.
Pay attention to whether this contest could signal any involvement for Nia, Trish, or Candice in the upcoming ‘Mania event. Over the past year, Nia has been a mainstay, holding the championship title and featuring prominently in major storylines. Given her stature, it seems unlikely she’ll be overlooked entirely. However, Triple H has shown in the past that he doesn’t just include talent for the sake of it; especially if they have significant matches at upcoming pay-per-views, as Nia discovered when she main-evented Elimination Chamber last year with Rhea Ripley, and Damian Priest learned when he delivered a stellar performance with Bad Bunny at Backlash in 2023.
Predicted Winner: Tiffy And Trishy
Sami Zayn Vs Kevin Owens In An Unsanctioned Grudge Match
Currently, the narrative unfolding in WWE is undeniably complex and engaging – a testament to Owens and Zayn’s talent given their extensive history of collaboration across various promotions over the years. Frankly, it’s not unexpected that they excel here, considering they are among the most skilled actors and character performers in WWE today. They have an uncanny ability to evoke emotions and connect with audiences on a deeper level, a skillset that many wrestlers on the roster do not possess.
It’s widely believed among fans that the upcoming match will likely culminate in a Kevin Owens versus Randy Orton bout at WrestleMania, considering Owens previously injured Orton and hasn’t appeared on WWE programming since. I share this view, but there are two possible routes for this scenario to unfold. One possibility is that Orton makes an appearance, interferes in the match to help Zayn win. The other option could be that Owens defeats Zayn in a brutal and ruthless manner, which would then prompt Orton to intervene and confront Owens. I believe we’ll see the second scenario play out because I want this encounter to have a definitive conclusion, and moreover, Owens really needs a win. After his prolonged feud with Cody Rhodes, he needs to demonstrate to everyone that he can triumph in significant matches under high-pressure situations.
Predicted Winner: Kevin Owens
The Women’s Elimination Chamber Featuring Bianca Belair, Naomi, Liv Morgan, Alexa Bliss, Roxanne Perez and Bayley.
In my opinion, it’s wise to rule out Bayley and Naomi from contention for the title before diving deep into our analysis. While Bayley is undeniably a star and has proven herself by winning a World Championship at WrestleMania 40, her current character seems to have lost some of its spark since last year, and her recent storylines don’t suggest she’s a serious contender here. Similarly, Naomi is engaging in a compelling TV storyline, but I question whether she has the edge to defeat Rhea at WrestleMania. There’s also the ongoing mystery with Jade, which ties into Naomi, that we need to address first.
Supporters of NXT and those who enjoy unexpected outcomes are advocating Roxanne Perez as a potential victor. Her exceptional performance during The Royal Rumble even broke the record for longest time in the match, yet it’s worth noting that her journey didn’t quite mirror the 1994 Diesel’s bookings throughout that extended run. She only eliminated one competitor during that entire span, and she hasn’t been showcased as a top main roster contender over the past month. It’s unlikely she’ll win, but it seems more probable that she’ll engage in a conflict with Bayley, which could shape their storyline for ‘Mania.
The dream match that everyone is eagerly waiting for is between Bianca Belair and Rhea Ripley. This highly anticipated encounter, which I consider a blessing from the realm of fantasy bookings, should grace the main event stage during at least the opening night, if not both nights, of ‘Mania. In my opinion, these two women are the most gifted and accomplished female superstars in WWE history, and their showdown is long overdue to enhance their respective legacies. However, I’d like to see a compelling build-up for this match whenever it happens. The Jade storyline currently hanging around Bianca’s neck needs resolution after investing so much time into its development. If she emerges victorious in the Chamber match, the ensuing month will be filled with speculation about Jade and her motives. Therefore, I believe Bianca will exit the picture, but I anticipate that we’ll witness Jade making an appearance to formally set up their match. My prediction is that she will forcefully intrude upon the cage and create a moment of uncertainty as to whether she will target Naomi and Bianca or Liv instead.
It’s now down to Liv Morgan and Alexa Bliss. Liv was the probable contender for Rhea nine months ago, but their rivalry has been over-extended. They’ve battled at SummerSlam, Bad Blood, and the Raw premiere on Netflix earlier this year. We’ve also witnessed mixed tag matches involving them, Dominik Mysterio, and Damian Priest. Raquel Rodriguez, Liv’s henchman, has been involved in tag matches with them too. With so much exposure, it’s tough to maintain excitement for more encounters, despite both being highly popular personalities within the roster.
Is it plausible that Alexa Bliss could genuinely compete for the title against Rhea Ripley at WrestleMania? As a devoted fan of hers, I’ve advocated for more significant roles for her in WWE for quite some time now, and she certainly elicited the loudest reaction during the Royal Rumble when she made her comeback. Nonetheless, I find it hard to believe that Triple H and the team view her as a credible contender to beat Rhea Ripley without any clear signs to support this assumption.
There have been subtle indications suggesting that she might be the final recruit for The Wyatt Family, but I’m struggling to see how her victory here would fit into that narrative unless they decide to make her a convincing supernatural threat and try to establish her as someone who could realistically win through otherworldly means.
Although my initial choice was Alexa Bliss, the current scenario seems to favor Liv Morgan. With the upcoming Rhea Ripley and Io Shirai title match on Monday, there’s a strong possibility of some unexpected events unfolding that could lead to a triple threat match at WrestleMania. This setup appears more plausible to me, as I anticipate Liv to win this bout, and her involvement in the title match may prompt Adam Pearce to make it a three-way contest.
Predicted Winner: Liv Morgan
The Men’s Elimination Chamber Match Featuring John Cena, CM Punk, Drew McIntyre, Seth Rollins, Damian Priest and Logan Paul
Let’s repeat our previous approach where we predict who won’t win, not who will. Logan Paul isn’t competing against Cody Rhodes in WrestleMania 41’s main event. Neither is Damian Priest. I believe Seth Rollins would deliver an amazing match with Cody due to their history and the engaging segment on Raw this week. However, it seems Rollins has other plans with Roman Reigns. In fact, there’s a good possibility that Roman might interrupt the Chamber and cause significant damage at the event. Based on current predictions, I think he’s out of contention.
Despite speculations that WWE viewed Drew McIntyre as a leading figure in wrestling this year, he’s been losing matches by roll-ups to the Usos. While I understand they’re trying to create a narrative about him self-destructing, it seems unusual for potential WrestleMania main eventers to lose to tag team brothers with catchphrases. Fans are so agitated about this situation that there are whispers WWE might alter his WrestleMania plans, possibly involving LA Knight, but there’s minimal discussion about them modifying the plans to include a World Championship match. I wouldn’t completely dismiss him or Seth Rollins from the equation, but their chances are slim. Instead, it seems more plausible that he’ll clash with Damian Priest at WrestleMania.
The scenario now involves John Cena and CM Punk. For quite some time, there have been whispers about WWE aiming to place Cena and Cody Rhodes in the main event at WrestleMania. On paper, this potential match-up appears to be the most recognizable, yet it’s questionable due to Cena’s limited television appearances this year (only twice). Additionally, his narrative revolves around not having won a single match in over a decade on WWE programming. He placed second at the Rumble and lost. I believe a more fitting storyline for him would be for him to finish second once again in this scenario. Perhaps he could face someone like Logan Paul at WrestleMania, which could help him regain momentum.
Through a series of possibilities, we’re leaning towards CM Punk as a candidate. Initially, I wasn’t very keen on this idea, but The Rock’s puzzling promo on SmackDown about claiming Cody Rhodes’ spirit sparked my interest. It’s uncertain whether CM Punk would accept The Rock’s challenge if Cody refuses, but if he doesn’t, WWE could leverage Paul Heyman’s debt to CM Punk as a plot device to involve Roman in a storyline related to The Rock. There are several alternatives available, and given Punk’s recent successes, it seems fitting to give him a triumphant clash against top-tier opponents, such as in this match.
Predicted Winner: CM Punk
