Following its launch, Monster Hunter Wilds has exploded in popularity and now stands as one of the most successful and well-regarded games of 2025. A vast multitude of dedicated players engage with it every day.
Absolutely, given the circumstances, it’s clear that the team at Capcom is dedicated to offering top-notch gaming experiences for all players. This is why the game continues to receive regular updates and additional features.
Lately, the game’s director, Yuya Tokuda, shared a letter dated May 2025 that disclosed information on Title Update 2 and additional features. Dive deeper for further insights! (Note: I’ve used “dive deeper” instead of “continue reading” to make it more engaging and natural)
As promised, here is the whole letter by director Tokuda:
Hello hunters! This is Yuya Tokuda, the director of Monster Hunter Wilds.
I’d like to extend my heartfelt thanks to everyone who has joined us in our gameplay. As we mentioned earlier, we’re aiming to roll out the Version 1.011 update on May 28th. This exciting new version will introduce numerous fresh features and adjustments to the game, including a partnership with Street Fighter 6.
In version 1.011 and subsequent updates like Title Update 2, we aim to offer you additional exciting content and refine the gameplay experience of Monster Hunter World to make it even more enjoyable for you. We encourage you to explore each update as they become available.
For this unique partnership in Street Fighter 6, you’ll find gear to get you ready for battles ranging from the jungles to the city streets. Plus, a fresh competitor is entering the fray: Akuma!
As part of the collaborative gear, you’ll find both the Akuma full armor set and the Akuma layered armor. Once you don one of these, you’ll gain access to three new items in your Item Bar – Assisted Combo: Akuma, Drive Impact, and Gou Hadoken.
Note: The full armor set grants extra bonuses to these Akuma attacks!
Now I’d like to go into a little more detail about Assisted Combo: Akuma and Drive Impact.
Combo Aid: Akuma
You can repeatedly choose this move from your Item Bar to perform a series of attacks. To trigger distinct moves, simply press the Triangle or O button.
Build up your Drive Meter, and once it’s fully charged, you can execute a Drive Impact. You can trigger a Drive Impact by choosing the move from the Item Bar, or by pressing L2 and then R1 while in the midst of a combo. When Akuma is wearing his full armor set, this move will have an enhanced effect, and if aimed at a monster’s wound or vulnerable spot, it will activate the Shun Goku Satsu attack, which will also cause stun.
Mastering these moves makes it possible to defeat even the toughest creatures in the game! Consider adding them to your quick-access menu for smooth execution during battle.
There’s a lot more to uncover in this unique partnership, and we’re excited for fans of both shows to delve into all the exciting content it provides.

8★ Challenging Monsters
Starting from Version 1.011, you’ll have the chance to hunt five new 8-star tempered monsters: Gore Magala, Rey Dau, Uth Duna, Nu Udra, and Jin Dahaad, in regions HR 41 and above. This expansion offers players additional choices for battling 8-star tempered beasts beyond Arkveld.
Note: The above tempered monsters will still be available to hunt at 7★ difficulty.
Each monster in this group has undergone several unseen modifications to enhance their durability, including boosted health, resistance to damage, and adjustments to multiplayer balance. The Tempered Gore Magala (8★) is predicted to pose a particularly daunting challenge even for skilled hunters. Engage with this formidable creature at your own peril!
In Version 1.011, you’ll notice numerous enhancements to the quest system. As your Hunter Rank (HR) rises, challenging quests will become more frequent. Additionally, we’ve boosted the spawn rate of multi-monster quests and the appearance rate of stronger tempered monsters in this update.
In our upcoming Title Update 2, due out this summer, we’re bringing in some brand new creatures to roam the lands. Just like with Title Update 1, you can expect to encounter some tougher-than-ever monsters – not only new tempered ones (8★) but also a fearsome Arch-tempered monster. So, get ready for hunts that will put your skills to the ultimate test!
Furthermore, even stronger monsters are also planned to be added in later updates.
In this upcoming Version 1.011 and Title Update 2, as previously noted in the director’s letter, we’ll make several balance changes that focus on improving the game experience for our players.
Initially, version 1.011 brought about modifications for several weapons such as The Hammer, Hunting Horn, Gunlance, Light Bowgun, and Heavy Bowgun.
Also, certain aspects for Gunlance Artian weapons have been increased.
Although some weapon specifications have been slightly decreased, others have been increased, leading to an overall increase in the range of capabilities for each type of weapon. I recommend testing them out for yourself when the update becomes available.
For further details about these adjustments, please view the update summary.
In Title Update 2, you can expect some enhancements for The Hammer. These improvements will be on top of the changes implemented in this current update. This includes introducing offset effects for specific attacks and allowing for a secondary attack after a successful offset.
OR
For Title Update 2, The Hammer is set to receive additional upgrades, alongside the modifications made in the ongoing update. These improvements include adding offset effects to certain attacks and enabling a follow-up attack when a successful offset is achieved.
Other weapons will also receive changes in Title Update 2 such as the Dual Blades.
Note: Weapons will continue to receive changes in future updates.
We aim to consistently enhance user experience by making key features and details more accessible, and by refining the overall atmosphere of the game in every update.
The following are notable improvements that will be implemented in Ver. 1.011.
- Hunters will be able to rest in the Grand Hub and Suja, Peaks of Accord. Resting restores all destroyed Pop-up Camps.
- A confirmation window will no longer appear after obtaining an item when your item pouch is full. The obtained item will automatically be sent to your item box.
- The visibility of the remaining time of meal effects is improved. The countdown will display 10 minutes before expiration.
In Version 1.011, I’ve noticed some tweaks to the notification system. The frequency of notifications has been decreased across all locations, but don’t worry, only high-priority targets will pop up in my Environment Overview. Moreover, in Title Update 2, active notifications won’t obstruct the input for opening the map anymore, allowing a smoother gaming experience!
In the upcoming version 1.011, we’re making enhancements for joining multiplayer quests within private and squad lobbies. We’ve also made adjustments to the camera behavior during hunts. These changes are just the beginning; expect further refinements in future updates.
Title Update 2 Details
Beyond the adjustments mentioned earlier, players can anticipate several other enhancements arriving with Title Update 2. These include optimizations to Seikret functionality, a new feature that allows for viewing skill details across multiple screens using just one button, and additional improvements.
Added FeaturesUpdate Ver. 1.011
As previously noted in the director’s letter, you can now observe and identify the specific indigenous life forms that you’ve captured. In the Windward Plains, navigate to ‘Ecological Research’ and choose ‘Check Endemic Life’. Here, you will see your creatures, their names, the size and weight of fish you’ve caught, and even have the option to favorite them so they stay in your collection even if you reach storage capacity! Since each creature may have distinct patterns or special traits, don’t forget to use this feature to save any that catch your eye!
Title Update 2 Improvements:
In Version 1.011, we’ve made some tweaks to the positions and movements of your Seikret and handler to ensure they don’t disrupt gameplay. We also have plans to introduce a character display toggle in Photo Mode for this update, as well as an option to turn off the glowing effect on your hunter from skills and items.
Layered weapons are also planned to be implemented in Title Update 2.
We look forward to players getting their hands on this exciting feature!
Our game development team is still working diligently to pinpoint and enhance stability issues, particularly focusing on the Steam edition. This is an ongoing effort, with our goal being steady advancements in this critical aspect of the game.
As a dedicated gamer, I’ve got some exciting news! The latest update, Version 1.011, has been optimized to manage VRAM more efficiently and has squashed those annoying crashes that used to happen due to low VRAM. And So buckle up, gamers, because the experience is about to get even better!
We’ll carry on enhancing the performance for an optimal gaming experience.
In the latest update version 1.011, we’ve introduced stronger monsters labeled as Tempered (8★). Consequently, the prizes for completing 8★ investigations and surveys in the field have been boosted. Moreover, the points awarded for fishing within guilds have undergone adjustments. Some massive catches and uncommon fish now yield higher rewards, while others may result in lower rewards.
We’ve added tougher monsters (8★) in version 1.011. This has increased the prizes for investigating and surveying these monsters, as well as for catching them. The points you get from fishing within a guild have been rebalanced, so some big catches and rare fish will give more points, while others might give less.
In the discussion about monstrous creatures, I highlighted that more powerful ones are scheduled to appear in upcoming updates. To enhance this experience, a fresh system will be introduced where players can acquire rewards and gear that expand their character’s skill sets. Keep an eye on our official sources for further announcements.
Looking Ahead!
Players hunting monsters in Monster Hunter Wilds can anticipate ongoing updates featuring fresh content and adjustments aimed at enhancing the game’s enjoyment factor. Meanwhile, Street Fighter 6 is set to unveil a unique collaboration on May 28 with Ver. 1.011, offering players exhilarating battles against natural beasts, and we aim to consistently provide content that keeps the gaming experience thrilling.
Thank you for your continued support for Monster Hunter Wilds.
Happy Hunting!
Yuya Tokuda, director of Monster Hunter Wilds
