‘Game of Thrones’ Actor Rory McCann Replacing the Late Ray Stevenson for ‘Ahsoka’ Season 2

Actor Rory McCann, famous for his role as the intimidating character The Hound in HBO’s Game of Thrones, will take over Ray Stevenson’s part in the second season of Star Wars series Ahsoka. This news has been verified by The Hollywood Reporter.

In the Disney+ series, Tim Stevenson portrayed the towering ex-Jedi character Baylan Skoll. Unfortunately, he succumbed to a sudden illness in May 2023, a tragic event that occurred three months prior to the series’ premiere in August of the same year. The actor was adored by fans for his deep, resonant voice, wit, and memorable performances in films like “Punisher: War Zone,” the “Thor” series, and the TV show “Rome.

In this series, Rosario Dawson portrays Ahsoka Tano, a former Jedi who joins forces with a past pupil to prevent the Imperial Empire from regaining power. A pair of antagonists, Skoll and his disciple Shin Hati (played by Ivanna Sakhno), stand in her way as she pursues her mission.

As an enthusiastic fan, I’m eagerly waiting for updates on when the new season will start filming and who will take the director’s chair this time. However, it’s Dave Filoni, our beloved showrunner from season one, who’s stepping back into his role once more, which definitely adds to my excitement!

More recently, McCann graced the silver screen in “Gladiator II”. Currently, he’s managed by Emptage Hallett and Monster Voice.

The Insneider first reported the news.

More to come.
