- Game of Thrones: Dragonfire is now in soft launch in certain regions
- It takes you back nearly two centuries to the times of the Targaryens
- That means dragons, backstabbing, politicking and massive battles
Following the disappointing eighth season of Game of Thrones, many believed the franchise was struggling in television land. However, unexpectedly, the prequel series House of the Dragon has revived much of its former popularity, so it’s no wonder a new mobile game, titled Game of Thrones: Dragonfire, is now available.
Over two hundred years prior to the narrative commonly associated with Game of Thrones, Dragonfire transports us to the era of House Targaryen, a dynasty renowned for their frequent use of dragons. Consequently, you’ll have the opportunity to collect and nurture your own dragons for combat against your adversaries.
Beyond the captivating main attraction, I’m excited about Dragonfire’s promise of tactical tile-based conflicts, where I can grow my territories, form alliances, and even betray them if needed. The game also boasts a richly detailed map of Westeros, complete with iconic landmarks like the Red Keep and Dragonstone that I’ll recognize from the series.
Tiamaat has arrived
It’s no wonder that House of the Dragon has rekindled curiosity about Game of Thrones, given its engaging plotline. The slightly fantastical setting of this time period might make it an ideal choice for a strategy multiplayer game launch. However, to avoid being lost in the crowd, Game of Thrones: Dragonfire needs to offer unique features that distinguish it from other similar games. Moreover, it faces competition from Kingsroad, another immersive role-playing game with a global setting.
Given the abundance of familiar characters, a setting ideal for strategic multiplayer interactions, and iconic battlegrounds at your disposal, it’s quite possible that Dragonfire could prove to be an engaging launch.
