Given that his personal life is in disarray due to the trauma he hasn’t addressed, it’s not surprising that he finds himself entangled in a nationwide conspiracy linked to his new assignment.

How Are ‘The Night Agent’ and ‘Bodyguard’ Similar?

Each series presents intricate plots within government circles. However, Bodyguard carries a significantly more somber mood than The Night Agent and tackles weighty themes like PTSD and suicide. Unlike Peter, who grapples with the legacy of his father’s errors but remains relatively unaffected, David is deeply scarred by his past traumas. His daily life is an ongoing battle, as he struggles to maintain existence due to unresolved PTSD. Despite loving his family dearly, he hasn’t achieved the family life he desires, largely because of this lingering mental strain.

Between The Night Agent and Bodyguard, the latter delves deeper into the complexities of conspiracy, offering a more profound narrative compared to the lighter, entertaining storyline in The Night Agent. However, this doesn’t imply that either series is too complex or pretentious for viewers. Rather, it approaches the theme of conspiracy with a greater sense of gravity. In contrast, The Night Agent maintains a lighter atmosphere. Essentially, while The Night Agent offers an enjoyable thriller experience, Bodyguard presents a more intense and at times nerve-wracking thrill ride. It’s clear that the show “Bodyguard” is truly exceptional, as it was nominated for two Golden Globes in 2019, including Best Television Series – Drama and Best Actor – Television Series Drama.
