As a seasoned gamer of the thrilling world of TV shows, I can’t help but feel a surge of anticipation upon hearing about Genesis Rodriguez joining the cast of Netflix’s “The Night Agent” for its third season. With her extensive experience in spy thrillers and action-packed series like “Lioness,” “The Umbrella Academy,” and even voice roles in animated hits like “Big Hero 6” and “She-Ra and the Princesses of Power,” Rodriguez brings a wealth of talent to the table.
Netflix’s The Night Agent is looking to boost its ranks.
Actress Genesis Rodriguez (previously known as “Lioness”) is currently in discussions to be part of the third season of Netflix’s hit espionage drama series. Already given the go-ahead by Netflix for its third installment, this highly acclaimed show features Gabriel Basso portraying a low-ranking FBI agent who unexpectedly finds himself entangled in a vast conspiracy.
Rodriguez will likely appear frequently in the upcoming third season, with filming commencing shortly in Istanbul and resuming in New York early next year. For the time being, specifics about her character are being withheld.
Netflix declined comment.
In contrast, the second season of “The Night Agent” will debut on January 23rd. This time around, Peter Sutherland (Basso) will have an opportunity to work as a Night Agent following his actions from the first season. However, being part of this secretive Night Action organization thrusts him into a realm where peril lurks at every turn and trust is scarce.
Currently, Rodriguez is featured in season two of the spy thriller series “Lioness,” streaming on Paramount+. Previously, she’s been seen in shows like Netflix’s “The Umbrella Academy” and “Neon,” as well as feature films such as “Identity Thief” and “Run All Night.” Her voice can also be heard in animated productions like “Big Hero 6” and “She-Ra and the Princesses of Power.” Rodriguez is represented by talent agencies UTA, Untitled Entertainment, and Jackoway Austen.
Shawn Ryan serves as the creator and head writer for the television series “The Night Agent,” an adaptation of a novel by Matthew Quirk, and is also involved in its production through Sony Pictures TV. For season two, Ryan collaborates as an executive producer with Marney Hochman, Paul Bernard, Munis Rashid, Guy Ferland, Seth Gordon, Julia Gunn from Exhibit A Films, David Beaubaire of Sunset Lane Media, and the team at Project X Entertainment which includes Paul Neinstein, William Sherak, Nicole Tossou, and James Vanderbilt.
