Get Ready! ‘Verity’ Movie Release Date Finally Revealed!

Fans of Colleen Hoover who had “Verity” on their ‘to-be-read’ lists can now shift it to their ‘to-watch’ list, but they won’t be able to check it off until May 15, 2026. The Hollywood Reporter has revealed that a film adaptation of the author’s psychological thriller novel is set for release in cinemas. Anne Hathaway, Dakota Johnson, Josh Hartnett, Ismael Cruz Cordóva, and Brady Wagner will star in this movie, directed by Michael Showalter, bringing the intriguing tale from the pages to the big screen.

The movie titled “Verity” will be released in the middle of May 2026, positioned between two highly anticipated films: “Avengers: Doomsday” from Marvel Studios on May 1, 2026, and “The Mandalorian & Grogu” from Lucasfilm on May 22, 2026. Amazon MGM Studios has reportedly chosen this mid-month release to provide an alternative viewing option for moviegoers during the spring season, catering to audiences who might be seeking something different from the predominantly male-oriented blockbusters scheduled for release around that time.

On the television show Verity, the producers are Antosca, Alex Hedlund, Stacey Sher, Showalter, and Jordana Mollick, along with Hathaway who plays Verity Crawford in the film, and Hoover, the author of the 2018 novel that serves as the basis for the movie. Johnson, cast as Ashleigh Lowen in the feature, also serves as an executive producer alongside Lauren Levine and Kerry Orent. The companies responsible for turning the book into a movie are Eat the Cat, Semi-Formal Productions, Shiny Penny, Somewhere Pictures, and Heartbones Entertainment.
