The spirit of Yotei offers three distinct cinematic playstyles, significantly increasing the game’s replay value. Among these, Kurosawa mode returns from Tsushima, while players can also explore two fresh options: Takashi Miike and Shinichirō Watanabe modes.
During the Ghost of Yotei showcase held on July 10, it was revealed that three cinematic modes would be accessible from the game’s launch day. Miike, a celebrated filmmaker famous for his work on 13 Assassins (a 2010 samurai movie), is one of the creators. Conversely, Watanabe, renowned in the anime world as the creator of Samurai Champloo and Cowboy Bebop, is also involved.
In the Miike setting, expect a heightened emphasis on intense close-ups, heavier violence, and a darker atmosphere enhanced by the addition of muddy landscapes. Conversely, in the Watanabe mode, the focus is on music, providing a calming backdrop with lo-fi beats that are perfect for unwinding and composing haikus.
Will Ghost of Yotei Get a Kurosawa Mode?
Yes. As mentioned, the iconic Kurosawa mode from Ghost of Tsushima will return in Ghost of Yotei.

As in the last game, you’ll have the option to experience the entire game visually in a monochrome style, enhanced by cinematic elements like film graining, an audio filter, and a stronger wind effect throughout the settings.
One appealing aspect of Yotei is that the game includes authentic Japanese lip-syncing from the very beginning, ensuring a fully immersive experience should you opt for any of the cinematic modes offered at launch, which are also included in the initial release.
Just a friendly heads-up, the game titled “Ghost of Yotei” is scheduled for release on October 2 for PlayStation 5. As of now, there’s no talk about a PC version, so if you’re hoping for one, it might be best not to expect it just yet.
Are you planning to use one of these cosmetic options or do you prefer to play the game as Sucker Punch originally intended it? For additional information, visit Gfinityesports.com, the premier source for news about Ghost of Yotei.
