Gillian Anderson is teasing whether she would return for Ryan Coogler‘s planned X-Files reboot.

On a talk show on ITV1’s This Morning, the actress who portrayed Agent Dana Scully in the original series revealed that she had a conversation with the director of the movie Sinners.

Anderson expressed to Coogler, ‘In my opinion, you’re the ideal candidate for this task. I wish you the best of fortune.’ He also requested Coogler to reach out to him, saying, ‘Feel free to call me.’

The X-Files focused on two FBI agents, Fox Mulder (David Duchovny), who had faith in the paranormal, and Dana Scully, a skeptic, as they delved into the mysterious and inexplicable cases that often seemed to be thwarted by unseen powers. This Emmy-winning show first aired from 1993 to 2002 for nine seasons before making a comeback for a tenth season in 2016, followed by an eleventh season in 2018.
