As a die-hard Gilmore Girls fan who’s spent countless winter nights curled up with a cup of coffee and an episode of this delightful show, it’s like a dream come true to see Lorelai, Luke, and Kirk back together again! The nostalgia is palpable, and the fact that they chose Walmart for their reunion just adds to the charm. Who knew Luke would be so generous with his coffee supply?
Instead of heading home for the holidays, Lauren Graham, Scott Patterson, and Sean Gunn returned to Stars Hollow for the holiday season instead.
In a delightful reunion, the actors who brought Lorelai Gilmore, Luke Danes, and Kirk Gleason to life in “Gilmore Girls” appeared together once more. This time it was for a special Walmart holiday advertisement. It’s been quite some time since fans of this cherished series last saw them on screen together, with the exception being the 2016 miniseries titled “Gilmore Girls: A Year in the Life“.
In the advertisement, you’ll see Gunn walking with a Walmart bag through the famous Stars Hollow town square, delivering it to Patterson at Luke’s Diner. Upon entering the well-known diner, Gunn is greeted by Graham and in true Lorelai style, she asks Patterson for “three coffees please.
In just a moment,” Patterson replies, pulling out the Walmart bag. Inside it’s a Keurig coffee maker – a great present for Lorelai, don’t you think?
Graham remarks, ‘You shouldn’t have,’ while Patterson jokingly explains, ‘I couldn’t help it, you’re making me lose my business.’
The advertisement ends with the onscreen love interests looking up as the snow falls, given that winter and snow are two of Lorelai’s favorite things (smells like snow, huh?)
For seven seasons, from 2000-07, Graham, Patterson, and Gunn appeared on the television series “Gilmore Girls.” This show, which also featured Alexis Bledel, Keiko Agena, Kelly Bishop, Melissa McCarthy, and Yanic Truesdale, primarily revolved around the bond between a thirty-something single mother and her teenage daughter residing in the tiny, fictitious town of Stars Hollow, Connecticut.
However, it’s important to note that “Gilmore Girls” isn’t just associated with winter; instead, it has become a popular choice during the fall season as well. Over the past few years, there has been a notable increase in its viewership during autumn, starting from 2021, when Nielsen started publishing weekly top 10 lists of original and acquired streaming shows in the U.S.
