As a seasoned gamer and a lifelong enthusiast of history and art, I can hardly contain my excitement for the fourth edition of Forever Is Now at the Giza Pyramids! The fusion of ancient history with contemporary art is not only visually stunning but also intellectually stimulating.
The fourth installment of “Forever Is Now” will once again grace the Giza Pyramids from October 24th to November 16th, 2024. During this period, the renowned landmark transforms into an open-air art gallery, seamlessly blending ancient heritage with modern artistry. This exhibition, masterfully curated by Nadine Abdel Ghaffar, showcases the works of 12 international artists. They employ the Pyramids as a backdrop to delve into the links between our past and present using diverse artistic techniques.
2021’s theme emphasizes that art serves as a means for exploration, similar to archaeology, as it reimagines history using contemporary creativity. Interactive light displays, statues, and digital pieces encourage viewers to delve into themes spanning sacred geometry to modern abstraction. For the inaugural time, artists hailing from Asia, such as South Korean artist Ik-Joong Kang, will contribute, adding international viewpoints to the event, according to designboom.
As a gaming enthusiast diving into the world of art, I’m captivated by the emergence of innovative AI projects. Me, along with Hassan Ragab and Daniah Al Saleh, are leveraging AI to revolutionize creative expression and stir up nostalgic feelings through video art. Additionally, works like Nassia Inglessis’s interactive sculpture and Jean-Marie Appriou’s clay boat, which symbolizes the flow of time, catch my attention. The UNESCO and multiple Egyptian ministries are backing Forever Is Now, an initiative that encourages cross-cultural exchange by showcasing masterpieces from global artists.
