Glen Powell Admitted He Gives His Parents Cameos In All His Movies, And I'm Obsessed With His Sweet Twisters BTS Footage

As a seasoned gamer with a soft spot for heartwarming stories and a keen eye for cinematic excellence, I must say that the inclusion of Glen Powell‘s parents in his films is a delightful touch that adds a unique charm to his projects. Their cameos, from the airplane scene in “Anyone but You” to their rodeo attire in “Twisters”, have become a fun tradition for me as a viewer.

Glen Powell’s career is soaring, and he’s got his loved ones right beside him. The Powell family have been a constant presence (and playful teaser) at the actor’s red carpet events, and have accompanied him to various filming sites across the globe. What makes this journey even more heartwarming is that Powell has ingeniously integrated his parents into all of his creative endeavors. They’ve made charming appearances in his movies since “Spy Kids 3-D: Game Over,” and his latest production, “Twisters,” follows suit. A recent backstage video showcases Glen’s folks gearing up for their big screen debut, and I just can’t get enough of it!

In a recent promotional video for Twisters, Glen Powell’s parents, Glen Sr. and Cyndy, appear thrilled to be involved in the action-packed movie as minor characters. The actor inquires about their preparation for acting, and they all exude infectious enthusiasm. Moreover, they also get to experience the full glamour of being a movie star, including sitting in a makeup chair. Mr. and Mrs. Powell look stunning in their rodeo outfits, and the star of Set It Up seems ecstatic to have them join the production. You can watch the video on Instagram below:

In the movie, Powell’s family stands by him, while Daisy Edgar-Jones features prominently in a major rodeo sequence. This significant scene marks the point where the two primary characters find a shared understanding. Interestingly, the Powells were also included in the Twisters preview as a storm approaches. They seamlessly blend into the setting of Oklahoma’s tornado-chasing community, and their acting performance is commendable. Here is an illustration showing them:

It’s becoming quite a fun custom for me to watch Glen Powell’s films, trying to spot his parents in them. Interestingly, both appeared in the airplane scene of “Anyone but You,” and his father can be seen dancing at the bar while Miles Teller plays the piano in “Top Gun: Maverick.” The cameo in “Twisters” seems particularly fitting as Powell and his family hail from Austin, Texas, which isn’t far from Tornado Alley where the film was shot. This might be why they all look so casual yet cool while wearing clothing closely linked to the American south, a region where such attire is traditionally worn.

The movie titled “Devotion” has several major films lined up for release, among them the A24 film “Huntington” and Edgar Wright’s adaptation of “Running Man“. This means there will be numerous chances for his parents to make appearances on the big screen. I’m eagerly anticipating how he manages to incorporate them into these films, as well as future projects. Given that they have shared pictures from South Africa, where Powell is filming “Huntington“, it seems likely they will appear in a cameo role. At this stage, I believe they are virtually an inseparable part of the package.

Glen Powell, along with his parents, is featured in the movie “Twisters,” now playing in theaters across the country and also available for rental or purchase on digital platforms. Additionally, you can catch him in another popular summer film titled “Hit Man,” which is currently streaming for Netflix subscribers.
