GloRilla Arrested on Felony Drug Possession Charges in Georgia Following Burglary Investigation at Her Home

According to officials, rap artist GloRilla was taken into custody for felony marijuana possession, an incident connected to a burglary inquiry at her residence in Georgia.

Based on reports from the Forsyth County Sheriff’s Office, deputies attended an alleged burglary at a residence early Saturday morning around 1:30 a.m. The information indicated that three suspects had broken into the home and were in the act of stealing belongings when one of the house’s residents opened fire on them. The intruders subsequently left the premises, and it seems they all escaped unharmed. There were no reported injuries among the residents of the house, either.

During the incident where gunshots were heard, it was the Major Crimes team who arrived on the scene to conduct an investigation. At this point, deputies noted a powerful scent resembling illicit drugs, according to the sheriff’s office statement.

As a dedicated fan, I found myself in a situation where law enforcement officials, known as Drug Task Force agents, were swiftly summoned to the premises. Upon obtaining a warrant for the property, they conducted a thorough search, during which a substantial quantity of marijuana was clearly visible within the master bedroom closet, as confirmed by authorities.

GloRilla, otherwise known as Gloria Woods, the homeowner in question, wasn’t present during the break-in. Yet, she willingly surrendered herself to Forsyth County Jail on Tuesday. There, she was indicted for felony marijuana possession and possession of a controlled substance in Schedule 1. The rapper was subsequently freed on a $22,260 bond the same day.

I, as a concerned community member, am deeply saddened by the serious crime that has befallen a fellow homeowner. Rest assured, I am relentlessly pursuing those responsible to bring them to justice. Simultaneously, it is my duty and commitment to maintain law and order in every facet of this case.

The sheriff’s office confirmed that the inquiry regarding the break-in is still underway, with their team actively seeking out those responsible.

The Hollywood Reporter has reached out to GloRilla’s attorneys for comment.

Despite a burglary at her house on Saturday morning, GloRilla took the stage later that very same night for the WNBA All-Star game in Indianapolis.
