I’ve poured countless hours into it since its launch, experimenting with numerous teams and heroes. I’ve even made my fair share of mistakes, which I hope you can avoid – that’s why I’m providing this guide.

So, if you want to have the best start possible, let’s start with the very basics.

Is the game P2W?

Gods & Demons is a gacha turn-based RPG, so you can expect it to have plenty of IAPs. However, if you are dedicating enough time and resources, and don’t waste your Diamonds on useless things, you can have a pretty easy time even as a F2P player. Of course, you might not end up reaching the top player ranking (unless you spend some money or are insanely lucky), but you will manage to clear several story stages, climb in the Arena, and get some decent gear for your team.

Be sure to cash in on all the fresh Gods & Demons redemption codes as well. This way, you’ll accumulate plenty of free Diamonds and Golden Contracts, providing you with an advantageous kick-start.

1 Tip #1 – Save your Diamonds!

Among the initial pieces of advice I’d like to offer pertains to managing your Diamonds. It’s crucial, particularly for free-to-play players, to conserve those Diamonds for events. For example, during our game launch, you could have obtained the S+ tier hero Indestructible Power King – Grox by investing 2700 Diamonds on ten pulls and performing numerous summons. On occasion, it can be wiser to forgo some summoning invitations, particularly when they promise a guaranteed event hero (especially if that hero is strong). From my own experience, I regret not having done this and missing out on some great opportunities. Therefore, I advise you to resist the urge to spend your summons impulsively!

For free-to-play (F2P) players, it’s most beneficial to allocate your well-deserved Diamonds towards these options:

2 Tip #2 – Focus on one hero at a time

While it may seem unusual, this advice could prove incredibly beneficial. In the meantime, concentrate on enhancing your most powerful hero. Aim to elevate your strongest character, ideally from the Gods and Demons tier list’s top ranks, to the maximum level achievable, equip them with your finest gear, and then watch as they effortlessly outmatch your opponents.

After finding a spot where you can easily defeat the enemies using a single hero, you can proceed to the next level. It’s best to focus on improving a single hero at a time, ensuring a consistent damage source.

3 Tip #3 – Progress through the story as much as possible

As an avid player, I’d advise you to delve deep into the storyline each day to unearth the tale and amass valuable resources in the process. To move forward swiftly, it’s crucial to have a couple of robust characters capable of swiftly defeating enemies. My suggestion would be to push your boundaries as far as possible in the story mode daily, and once you encounter opponents that prove too challenging, pause and grind at that level instead.

In due course, feel free to return, collect your prizes, enhance the champions in your squad to gather more CP. The further you progress, the tougher the opponents become, requiring a higher level. Do remember to also elevate the heroes you’re utilizing when possible as it significantly amplifies their power.

By the way, remember not to feel disheartened if you find yourself stuck at times. Progressing through each stage can be challenging, and achieving them all in one go is especially tough. You’ll need to devote some time to it, and since Gods & Demons offers an AFK earnings feature, it means that advancement will take a bit of your patience as well.

4 Tip #4 – Don’t miss any events and dailies

In this game, you’re likely to devote around 60% of your playtime to engaging in the in-game activities. Apart from the narrative levels, these activities are exciting, rewarding, and can sometimes be quite demanding. Previously, I suggested saving your Diamonds for summoning your preferred hero during events, but I neglected to mention another important point: you’ll also earn a substantial amount of Diamonds through these events.

It’s crucial not to skip any opportunity, since for free-to-play players, each resource or currency earned is valuable and useful.

Do all of your dailies and weekly quests

Additionally, during your playtime, you’ll find an extensive collection of daily and weekly missions, along with some Achievements to accomplish. The daily tasks are particularly important because they provide you with free Contracts and a generous amount of Diamonds, so make sure not to skip any days.

5 Tip #5 – Team and hero synergies

Every time you introduce a character (hero), you’ll trigger a unique synergy, with each synergy tailored to the hero’s characteristics, among which there are five distinct ones. I highly advise building your ultimate team by considering these traits as it will significantly boost your performance during battles.

You have two options: opt for the suggested teams or create your own, but from a personal perspective, I’d strongly recommend choosing this team that boasts exceptional skills. This team uniquely triggers the six God/Demon trait, which rewards you with a 36% increase in HP and a 24% boost in attack power.

6 Tip #6 – Best packs to invest in

Main Stage Growth Bundle – It gives you 50 Excellent Hero Shards, so you have a chance to get a good Legendary or Mythic hero (plus other goods and 680 VIP points)

Complete as many Sky Tower stages as you can – when you can no longer advance, go out, and try again once you’ve increased your team CP.
Go to the Floral Wonderland and level up the garden as much as possible. The more CP you have, the higher level you’ll be able to achieve. Also, don’t forget to claim the rewards from there every day.
You should always have a Healer on your team. Having 1 healer and 1 tank is crucial if you want your team to survive.
When you battle in the Arena, try to find enemies who are weaker than you. Use the Refresh button as much as necessary.
Complete all the battles in the Epic Monument for additional rewards.
