Govinda’s secretary Shashi Prabhu passes away; veteran actor rushes to offer condolences to grieving family

Today, it’s sad to report that Shashi Prabhu, Govinda’s longtime secretary, passed away on March 6, 2025. He was more than just a secretary to Govinda and the Ahuja family; he played a pivotal role in shaping the actor’s career. Unfortunately, this remarkable partnership has come to an end.

Following the sad news of Shashi Prabhu’s passing, Govinda hastened to pay his heartfelt condolences to the mourning family at their home. A close friend and long-time associate of Govinda, who starred alongside him in the film Ilzaam, Shashi Prabhu passed away around 4:15 PM at Niranjan Society, Chikuwadi, Borivali. Many figures from Bollywood are expected to attend his funeral today.

Reports claimed that Govinda’s secretary Shashi Sinha, who discussed Govinda’s marital status with his wife Sunita Ahuja, had passed away. However, during a conversation with journalist Vickey Lalwani, Sinha clarified the misconception and affirmed that he is in good health.

Sinha explained to the journalist that Shashi Prabhu had sadly passed away, explaining that some publications may have been confused due to the fact that there are two secretaries of Govinda with the same first name. He further revealed that Prabhu had a heart condition and had undergone surgery four days prior, but tragically fell in the bathroom today and stopped responding when his family and friends tried to pick him up. Sinha also mentioned that Prabhu was very close to the senior actor and meant almost everything to him.

It appears that upon reaching the house of the departed, Govinda looked deeply saddened, almost unable to console himself. In a more personal matter, Govinda has recently been in the news for rumors suggesting he may be divorcing his wife Sunita, having been married for 37 years.

Following this, Govinda’s secretary, Shashi Sinha, tackled the matter. He shared with ABP News that these reports lack truth. “I am always in the presence of Govinda Ji, and there’s no basis for such claims. It seems Sunita may have given some interviews, and perhaps someone has overstated her words, leading to the spread of such news,” explained Sinha.
