Govinda’s wife Sunita Ahuja claims she taught him acting and dance; reveals she was offered his first film Tan Badan

As a dedicated follower of Bollywood, I have always admired the iconic figure that Govinda represents in the Indian cinema. His comic timing and dance moves were unparalleled during the 90s, making him one of the most beloved actors of his time.

Govinda is a well-known and highly regarded actor who dominated Hindi cinema in the 90s, recognized for his exceptional comic delivery and dancing skills. Although he has taken a break from films, his personal life often makes headlines online. Recently, Govinda’s wife, Sunita Ahuja, asserted that she was the one who taught him acting and dance. Furthermore, Sunita disclosed that she had been offered the chance to star in his debut film, Tan Badan.

In the latest installment of The Male Feminist on Hauterrfly, Sunita Ahuja discussed her relationship with her spouse, Govinda. Sunita revealed that while she didn’t pick up any lessons directly from Govinda himself, she did learn a great deal from his mother instead.

Today, Govinda performs exceptionally well, I’m the one who taught him. As for dance lessons, I was his instructor. You see, when we were dating, we often danced together. My sister ended up marrying his brother-in-law, and we would frequently challenge each other to see who danced better. The victor would receive ₹50. It’s worth mentioning that I usually emerged as the winner! This is what Sunita shared.

Sunita Ahuja additionally mentioned that she was given the main part in Govinda’s first movie, “Tan Badan” (1986), but she declined the offer since she wasn’t keen on acting in films.

Previously, on Time Out with Ankit, Sunita Ahuja disclosed that she adjusted her wardrobe to suit Govinda’s preferences. Initially, Sunita used to wear miniskirts, but the actor expressed his discomfort with her short outfits. During their first encounter, she chose to wear a saree when meeting his mother as a sign of respect and adaptation to his conservative style.

On October 1, 2024, Govinda accidentally discharged his own revolver and sustained an injury in his leg. The 61-year-old actor was taken to a hospital in Mumbai. He was released from the hospital on October 4. During those challenging times, Sunita provided him with much-needed support. She also shared his health status with his fans at that time.

Govinda and Sunita Ahuja have been a couple for close to four decades now. They got married in the year 1987 when Sunita was just eighteen. Together they have raised two kids, Yashvardhan Ahuja and Tina Ahuja.
