For over 15 years, I’ve been a dedicated Green Lantern fan, feeling quite disappointed with the Green Lantern film. However, my interest was piqued when I heard about the upcoming TV show Lanterns, promising to explore the Green Lantern lore within the DC Universe franchise. Kyle Chandler and Aaron Pierre will portray Hal Jordan and John Stewart, respectively, but since then, all the announced castings have been for new characters. Today, though, I’m thrilled because it’s been unveiled that Sinestro has been cast in Lanterns, and I can’t wait to see this villain create trouble for Hal Jordan and John Stewart within the DC Universe.
Actor Ulrich Thomsen, known for roles in “The Blacklist” and “Counterpart”, has been chosen to portray Thaal Sinestro in the upcoming film “Lanterns”. As reported by Deadline, this will be the second live-action portrayal of Sinestro, following Mark Strong’s performance in 2011’s “Green Lantern”. Thomsen’s version of Sinestro is described as both ruthless and charismatic, with a manipulative personality that fuels his persistent obsession with his former protégé, Hal Jordan.
