‘Grosse Pointe Garden Society’ Moving to Friday Nights on NBC

An unexpected adjustment to the schedule is not common in today’s network landscape, yet NBC is making such an adjustment.

Beginning April 4, the network is shifting the first-year drama “Grosse Pointe Garden Society” from its Sunday night schedule to Friday nights instead. The time slot previously held by “Happy’s Place”, a Reba McEntire-led comedy ending on March 21, will be filled by “Grosse Pointe Garden Society”. Meanwhile, “Dateline” episodes will air at 10 p.m. on Sundays following the end of “Grosse Pointe Garden Society’s” new schedule.

The adjustment in airing the shows aims to attract additional viewers to the Grosse Pointe Garden Society‘s television broadcasts. The show, which delves into the lives of a suburban garden club members, who find themselves embroiled in scandal, secrets, and even murder, has gained some popularity on Peacock’s streaming service. However, its viewership on traditional television has faced some challenges.

To start, let me clarify that the TV show Grosse Pointe Garden Society has had a modest beginning, managing an average of only 1.29 million same-day viewers for its first three episodes this season on NBC. This makes it their lowest rated show this season. However, the series premiere on Feb. 23 has experienced significant growth in the following four weeks, thanks to streaming and delayed viewing. As a result, it now boasts an audience of 6.6 million viewers, which is more than three times larger than its initial viewership of 1.79 million.

On Friday evenings this season, NBC has experienced a touch of kindness: the show “Happy’s Place” typically attracts 3.35 million viewers on its first broadcast, and it has been granted another season as a result.

As a gaming enthusiast, I’m excited to share that I’m diving into a new TV show called “Grosse Pointe Garden Society.” This series is packed with talented stars like Melissa Fumero, Aja Naomi King, Ben Rappaport, AnnaSophia Robb, Matthew Davis, Alexander Hodge, Nancy Travis, and Felix Wolfe.

The creators of the popular show “Good Girls,” Jenna Bans and Bill Krebs, have joined forces to create this series and are serving as co-showrunners. They’re also executive producers, alongside Casey Kyber. Universal Television is producing this promising production. Can’t wait to see what this team has in store for us!
