- Kakao Games’ Guardian Tales is getting a major new update
- Explore World 20 in the sakura-soaked Motor Mountain
- Befriend a new spirit-wielding hero in the form of Dohwa
As a gamer with a soft spot for RPGs and a deep appreciation for Japanese culture, I can’t help but get excited about Kakao Games’ latest update for Guardian Tales. The addition of World 20, Motori Mountain, promises a visually stunning and spiritually intriguing journey that I’ve been craving since the last update.
Kakao Games is growing Guardian Tales again, introducing World 20, known as Motori Mountain. This stunning landscape filled with cherry blossoms and Japanese influences offers a spiritual journey through temples and shrines for players to discover. Additionally, players will make friends with a new spirit-based companion.
In this newest release, Dohwa, a descendant from the lineage of soul mages, takes center stage. This unique individual is capable of summoning spirits to combat the menacing yokais. Together, you’ll uncover hidden truths that have long lain buried even beyond the veil of death.
In honor of these latest upgrades, Kakao Games is hosting a unique hero acquisition event running from now until November 26th, and also a special event to acknowledge the incorporation of world 20. During this period, enthusiasts can engage in rift stage missions to accumulate points which they can then swap for an extensive array of prizes.

Dohwa appears to be an engaging novelty in the collection of Guardian Tales, given her apparent influence from Japanese shrine maids and traditional religious beliefs. It seems that Kakao Games are aware of the fierce competition during winter months from popular games, which is why they’re launching a new free summon event lasting until November 25th to draw players in. This event awards a total of 50 summon tickets (10 per day) to help players expand their collection of characters and equipment!
Regarding happenings, if you enjoy games similar to Guardian Tales, particularly ones launched this year, consider showing your support by voting for them in the most recent version of the Pocket Gamer Awards for 2024.
