Gunna Becomes a Basketball Coach for “One of Wun” Music Video

As a devoted follower of Gunna and Atlanta rap scene, I must say that his latest music video for “One of Wun” is nothing short of electrifying! The split-screen format, the intense basketball game, and the unexpected twist where both teams win – it’s like watching an action-packed movie.

Following their reunion on “Style Rare” over the summer, Gunna recently released the official music video for the lead single from his new album titled “One of Wun“.

Under the guidance of director Spike Jordan, an exhilarating sequence unfolds where Atlanta rapper Gunna assumes the role of a basketball coach in a high-stakes match at the Overtime Elite youth basketball league arena. The narrative is presented in a dual-screen layout, with Gunna portraying two distinct coaches for each team: on one side, his character maintains a cool demeanor, donning sunglasses, while on the opposite sideline, he becomes fiercely passionate and vocal. Instead of one team emerging victorious, the video concludes with both teams triumphantly winning, causing cheerleaders from both squads to pour onto the court in celebration.

On the track, Gunna sings, “I obtained both the cake and the butter, which feels like hard work, with all my money on the line/ Cruising around town in a convertible luxury car,”. He continues, “There’s a motor hidden in the trunk that you can hear/ Despite their attempts to make me fail, I’m Gunna, overdue for a victory.”

One of Gunna’s studio albums, titled “One,” marked his fifth LP and debuted at the second spot on the Billboard 200 albums chart in May. It sold a total of 91,000 equivalent album units, with 90,000 coming from streaming and 1,000 from album sales. This record surpasses the sales of his previous full-length releases, such as “A Gift & a Curse” (2023), “DS4Ever” (2022), “Wunna” (2020), “Drip or Drown 2” (2019), and “Drip Harder” (2018).
