In simpler terms, Supergiant Games has rolled out a significant update titled “The Warsong” for the game Hades 2, their roguelike title. This new update reintroduces a cherished deity from earlier games – Ares.
In the exciting new locales of Hades 2, I found myself engaging with an expanded cast of Greek deities, such as Hera, Apollo, and my beloved Hephaestus. Some familiar faces from the original game still graced the screen, but regrettably, some fan favorites were noticeably absent or appeared less frequently.
Artemis, the huntress, is not a character you encounter regularly during gameplay; instead, she appears as a special occurrence. Additionally, she can be found only in one of the two main paths that players can choose to follow. The same goes for Dionysus and Athena, who were introduced with the Olympus update as unique events rather than consistent figures in the game.
It appears that Ares isn’t any sort of unique occasion, thankfully. In the video detailing all the changes in the latest Warsong update, you notice Ares’ emblem of power is positioned beside Melinoe, the main character of the game.
In addition to introducing a fresh deity, the Warsong update from Supergiant Games expands the content on the surface journey too. Initially, the run would conclude when players encountered Eris during the early access phase. Post the Olympus update, developers included a new zone which led to an exhilarating clash against Prometheus instead.
This update includes a harmonious blend of new features such as rewards, fresh artworks, and countless conversations. Essentially, it’s a substantial expansion that gives the impression that Hades 2 is already in its full release version.
When Is Hades 2 Coming out of Early Access?
It’s likely that Hades 2 will leave early access and expand to various other platforms as soon as this year. However, before it reaches its final 1.0 version, Supergiant Games plans to release one more significant update.
Without a doubt, anyone who has joined me in playing Hades 2 knows the anticipation is absolutely justified. For a comprehensive look at what’s new with The Warsong update, I’d recommend checking out the detailed patch notes posted on Supergiant’s Steam page.
Instead, you might want to listen to the 30-minute narrative delivered by the game’s storyteller. It’s quite enjoyable!
