Haider Ackermann Named Creative Director of Tom Ford

As a fashion enthusiast with a penchant for avant-garde designs that strike the perfect balance between wearability and artistic flair, I am absolutely thrilled about Haider Ackermann taking the helm at Tom Ford! His colorful aesthetics, impeccable tailoring, and modern sensibilities make him an ideal choice to carry forward the legacy of a designer like Tom Ford.

Haider Ackermann has been appointed as the Creative Director of Tom Ford, where he will bring his forward-thinking and wearable designs, along with meticulous attention to detail in craftsmanship, to the label

Ford, who parted ways with his personal brand in 2023, has always admired Haider’s creations deeply. He finds both women’s and men’s fashion designs by Haider equally captivating. Haider is a brilliant colorist, his tailoring is impeccable, and he embodies modernity. They share similar historical influences, and Ford can hardly wait to witness Haider’s work with the brand. He anticipates being one of the first to stand up and cheer after the March show

After the retirement of his longtime business partner, Domenico De Sole, Ford stepped away from his brand. Subsequently, Peter Hawkings took over but only remained for a brief period, presenting just two collections, before he too departed from the company

Originally from Colombia, Ackermann now resides in Paris. He earned his art education at the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Antwerp, and has worked in design positions at both Fila and Canada Goose. Additionally, he’s had the opportunity to design a season for Jean Paul Gaultier’s couture line

“With great pride, I’ll strive to uphold the esteemed reputation of Tom Ford, someone I’ve long admired and hold in high regard,” Ackermann stated. “I’m eagerly anticipating the challenges and opportunities that are coming our way.”

In March 2025, the designer is set to unveil his inaugural collection for Tom Ford at Paris Fashion Week
