Actress Halle Berry is generously donating all of her wardrobe to aid victims of the ongoing wildfires in Los Angeles. In response to a post by fellow celebrity Sharon Stone, who asked followers to donate clothing items to a store in L.A. called Coop, which will give these clothes away for free to those in need, Berry made her announcement.
Berry shared on Daily Mail that she’s clearing out her entire closet and heading to the COOP. If you reside in Southern California, she encourages you to do the same. This action can immediately assist the families who are currently displaced and in need of essential items. She also expressed gratitude towards Stone for her guidance, ending the post with ‘Love you lady’.
Starting from Thursday and continuing through Sunday, you can collect your clothes at our Coop store on Beverly Boulevard, between 10 am and 6 pm. Our inventory features both new and gently used garments such as jeans, jackets, and shoes. If you require them, please visit the store during these specified hours.
Stone has been graciously inviting her friends and relatives who were affected by the fires to stay at her home, as she shared during an interview with Ashleigh Banfield on NewsNation. In her own words, “I’ve been accommodating friends in my house. We now have families moving in with us. We are preparing a space to assist people. We are arranging beds and simply making room in the house,” Stone explained.
Several Other Celebrities Have Donated to the Relief Effort
Besides Berry and Stone, notable figures like Jamie Lee Curtis and her husband, Christopher Guest from This is Spinal Tap, are also lending their resources towards wildfire relief efforts. In fact, they’ve promised $1 million in aid money. Their Santa Monica neighborhood was directly impacted by the fires, causing them to worry about losing their home for a while.
It’s also worth mentioning that Forbes reports generous contributions from figures like Mark Zuckerberg, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, Kylie Jenner, and Bethenny Franker (formerly of “Real Housewives of New York City”), who have all given funds – either individually or via their philanthropic entities.
Many well-known personalities have unfortunately faced this tragedy. Leonardo DiCaprio, Anna Faris, Adam Brody, James Woods, Paris Hilton, Steven Spielberg, Tom Hanks, John Goodman, Billy Crystal, and Ben Affleck are among those who’ve lost their homes to fire. It’s currently estimated that around 10,000 buildings have been razed to the ground, and at least 10 lives have been lost. Tragically, this death toll is expected to rise further.
You’ll find a variety of charities where you can make donations, such as the American Red Cross, World Central Kitchen, the Los Angeles Fire Department Foundation, Baby2Baby, The Canine Rescue Club, Pasadena Humane, the Los Angeles Regional Food Bank, and the California Fire Foundation, along with many more worthy organizations.
Various groups welcome monetary contributions regardless of location, meaning that residents outside of California can also contribute significantly to their causes.
