Halloween Horror Nights Is Almost Over But Universal Is Already Teasing Its Next Horror Attraction And I'm Hyped

As someone who has spent countless nights running for my life (or at least pretending to) at Halloween Horror Nights, I can’t help but feel a mix of excitement and anticipation as Universal Studios prepares to unleash its horror experience in Las Vegas.

If your friends are big fans of Halloween Horror Nights at Universal Studios in Orlando or Hollywood, be kind to them as they might be feeling a bit down since Halloween is almost here and that means the 2024 event is coming to an end. But don’t worry HHN enthusiasts, the Universal horror experience isn’t over yet! Even though Halloween marks the end of the event in Florida and California, it will also give us a sneak peek into what Universal has planned for Las Vegas.

In early 2023, Universal Destinations & Experiences unveiled two distinct themed entertainment ventures. One is the Universal Kids Resort, a kid-friendly theme park being built in Texas at present. The other is Universal Horror Unleashed, a horror-themed attraction slated for Las Vegas. Although specific details about what Universal Horror Unleashed entails are still under wraps, the official Twitter account for this experience recently hinted at an announcement on Halloween, October 31st.

Despite any further official announcements, we’ve already got a significant clue: The account bio of Universal Horror Unleashed clearly mentions “Coming 2025.” This implies that both Universal Horror Unleashed and Epic Universe will open their doors next year. Consequently, it seems like 2025 is shaping up to be an extraordinarily busy year for the Universal Parks.

As a dedicated horror enthusiast, I can’t help but feel a rush of anticipation when it comes to Horror Unleashed. Rumors suggest that this could be the forever residence for our beloved Halloween Horror Nights. If these whispers are true, we might just find ourselves stepping into some familiar terrifying territories, perhaps even bigger and scarier versions of the haunted houses we’ve grown accustomed to at HHN annually. Given the immense popularity and success of HHN each year, it’s no wonder that Universal is keen on finding a way to keep these chilling creations standing.

It’s possible that by Thursday we might receive a clearer timeline than just 2025 for the opening. We’re hoping to learn more details as well, such as what the overall experience will entail. If it’s similar to or an expansion of HHN, will there be unique stories woven into it? Will this new experience be a permanent fixture or will it change periodically? And lastly, could we expect food and beverage options to enhance the HHN-like atmosphere?

Universal Studios isn’t merely expanding extensively; it’s crafting something unique for every type of enthusiast in an unprecedented manner. Even though I may not be a horror aficionado, as a lover of themed entertainment, I share the same level of anticipation for Universal Horror Unleashed as I do for Epic Universe. The year 2025 promises to be spectacular.
