HamptonsFilm Director Anne Chaisson to Step Down

HamptonsFilm Director Anne Chaisson to Step Down

As a seasoned gamer with years of experience navigating through countless virtual worlds, I must say Anne Chaisson‘s tenure at HamptonsFilm reminds me of leveling up in a game. She took a single event and transformed it into a vibrant, year-round organization – much like how a humble starting character can evolve into an epic hero.

Anne Chaisson is set to resign from her position as the head of HamptonsFilm, the charitable organization responsible for hosting the annual Hamptons International Film Festival.

Chaisson has been the head of the non-profit organization since 2012. Under her leadership, the festival’s duration grew from five to eleven days. Over this period, it introduced numerous new awards and recognitions, making it an essential destination for those aiming for awards season accolades.

Randy Mastro, chair of the HamptonsFilm board, plans to establish a special team to choose a replacement for our current executive director. This decision will be made following the conclusion of this year’s Hamptons International Film Festival, which takes place from October 4th through the 14th.

Artistic director David Nugent and the rest of the programming team will remain in place.

“Chaisson expressed his immense pride in the collective achievements we’ve made, turning HamptonsFilm from a solitary annual event into a thriving year-round non-profit organization. Reflecting on my time at HamptonsFilm, I can honestly say it has been one of the most rewarding experiences of my career. The opportunity to expand a non-profit during such unprecedented times is something I am eternally grateful for and proud to have been a part of. With a sense of accomplishment in knowing I’ve achieved what I set out to do, I am eager to embark on the next phase of my journey.”
