Harry Vanderspeigle is back and powerless(?!) in the first trailer for Resident Alien Season 4.
Beginning in early June, the new episodes of the show will air simultaneously on USA Network and SYFY. The storyline commences with Alan Tudyk’s charming interstellar visitor finding himself imprisoned by the mysterious Greys on the moon. Meanwhile, a shapeshifting, cannibalistic Mantid has assumed his identity on Earth, displaying human behavior in ways that are stranger than ever – an oddity even among the show’s previous peculiarities.
Fortunately, the trailer evidence shows that our beloved Harry and Bridget manage to break out of their lunar prison. However, there’s a twist: The Greys have equipped him with a gadget that limits his extraordinary alien talents, making a less passionate meeting with Edi Patterson’s Blue Avian character, Heather, inevitable.
Resident Alien Season 4 is coming to USA Network & SYFY
Simultaneously, Asta and D’arcy work hard to hide the truth from Ben and Kate who are eagerly searching for explanations regarding their peculiar circumstances. Meanwhile, Sheriff Mike and Deputy Liv endeavor to unravel some baffling deaths in Patience that Sheriff Mike suspects have supernatural origins.
In the continuation of the series, actors Sara Tomko, Alice Wetterlund, Corey Reynolds, Elizabeth Bowen, Judah Prehn, Levi Fiehler, and Meredith Garretson reprise their roles as Asta Twelvetrees, D’arcy Bloom, Sheriff Mike Thompson, Deputy Liv Baker, Max Hawthorne, Mayor Ben Hawthorne, and Kate Hawthorne respectively, from the initial three seasons.

In Chris Sheridan’s words to SYFY Wire last spring, the characters have almost divided into three distinct groups: Asta, D’arcy, and Harry, who are privy to Harry’s secrets and knowledgeable about other matters; Mike and Liv, who suspect the existence of aliens; and Ben and Kate, who share the same belief. The anticipation lies in whether these groups will unite, as the story unfolds. Sheridan hinted that there might be two factions emerging: one aware of the Greys but unaware of Harry’s alien nature, and another group consisting of Harry and his confidants, who possess comprehensive knowledge while a Mantid creature continues to cause chaos in town by feeding on its inhabitants.
In addition, Gary Farmer, Gracelyn Awad Rinke, Jenna Lamia, Sarah Podemski, Linda Hamilton, Enver Gjokaj, Terry O’Quinn, and Edi Patterson are back for Season 4 as well.
As a fresh gamer, I’m stoked to discover two new faces this season! Jewel Staite, famously known for her role in Firefly, is joining us as Patience native Jules Gardner. And if you remember Office Space, Stephen Root is stepping into the shoes of Harry’s old man. Can’t wait to see what they bring to the game!
In Season 4, Alan Tudyk will take on his initial role as a television director, overseeing the direction of the first two episodes of the series.
When does Season 4 of Resident Alien premiere?
As a hardcore Resident Alien fan, I’m hyped that Season 4 is dropping on both USA Network and SYFY on Friday, June 6 at 11 p.m. ET/PT! Can’t wait to catch the episodes live, but if I miss one, no worries, I can stream them all a week later on Peacock.
The sci-fi show Resident Alien, originally developed for television by Chris Sheridan (who served as the executive producer), is a collaboration between Universal Studio Group’s UCP division, Amblin TV, and Dark Horse Entertainment. Additionally, Mike Richardson and Keith Goldberg from Dark Horse Entertainment, Justin Falvey and Darryl Frank of Amblin TV, Robert Duncan McNeill, and Nastaran Dibai were also involved as executive producers in the creation of this series.
