As a dedicated gamer and avid fan of Marvel movies, I’m absolutely thrilled about Joe Locke joining the MCU through his role in “Agatha All Along.” His interview with Rolling Stone UK has added fuel to the growing anticipation for this Disney+ series.
I’m thrilled to share that in an emotional disclosure, I, Joe Locke, have revealed some personal insights about my character’s sexuality in the forthcoming Disney+ series, “Agatha All Along.” The excitement for this highly-anticipated WandaVision spin-off is building day by day, and I can’t wait to join the Marvel Cinematic Universe family through this role. This new opportunity will undoubtedly take my career to unprecedented heights.
I sat down exclusively with Rolling Stone UK for their August/September issue to share some insights about the latest Marvel series. Regarding the tone of the show, I described it as something unexpected, not your typical Marvel production. As for my character, known as Teen, I gave a sneak peek by revealing that Agatha All Along is unlike anything you’ve seen before in the Marvel universe. However, I kept quiet on specific plot details, but let me tell you, I’m beyond thrilled to be part of this innovative project!
“A diverse band of women and I assemble, an unusual group including myself. Together, we embark on the Witches’ Trail, leading to an experience filled with enchantment, amusement, and intrigue.”
According to the trailer, the teenage character portrayed by Locke named Teen, plays a significant part in the story. He helps Agatha escape Wanda’s enchantment and encourages her to follow the Witches’ Road. Their journeys for power are linked. In the series, Teen openly identifies as gay. When discussing his character’s representation, Locke explains that “the portrayal in the show is authentic and uplifting.”
Locke Confirms Agatha All Along Will Be “Definitely Darker”
As a gamer, I’m excited to announce that I, Joe Locke, will be joining forces on-screen with the talented Kathryn Hahn. She’s back as everyone’s beloved witch, Agatha Harkness, from WandaVision. In our upcoming project, Agatha All Along, we’ve gathered an impressive cast. Sasheer Zamata, Ali Ahn, Debra Jo Rupp, Patti LuPone, and Aubrey Plaza are all witches and part of Harkness’ coven. Their presence adds a layer of mystery to the already intriguing atmosphere of the show.
In relation to the unsettling ambiance, Locke characterizes the show’s tone as noticeably more ominous compared to past Marvel productions. According to him in an interview for Rolling Stone UK.
“Just as WandaVision explores various comedy subgenres in an unique manner, Agatha does so with a darker and somewhat terrifying twist. This adds depth to the MCU by introducing complex characters beyond the typical superheroes like Iron Man or Captain America. Agatha’s storyline signifies an intriguing new direction for the universe, featuring a distinctive type of hero.”
In summary, assuming this significant part in the offshoot following the achievement of “Heartstopper” might bring Locke international acclaim and establish him as a notable figure in LGBTQ+ representation within mainstream media and the superhero world.
