On March 5 and 6, various brands will gather at LVMH’s semi-final showroom in Paris. Here, the LVMH Prize Committee of Experts, comprising 80 international fashion experts, will select the eight finalists. Additionally, members of the public can participate by casting their votes for their preferred designer up until March 9.
The LVMH Prize consists of three distinct awards, each concentrating on specific aspects and offering benefits. The LVMH Prize for Emerging Fashion Designers emphasizes creativity and offers a €400,000 EUR grant along with a year-long mentorship from a dedicated LVMH team. Another prize, the Karl Lagerfeld Award, also granted to a designer based on their creativity, includes a €200,000 EUR endowment and a one-year mentoring program. Lastly, the newly introduced Savoir-Faire Prize, which focuses on craftsmanship, expertise, innovation, and sustainability, presents winners with a €200,000 EUR grant and a year-long specialized mentorship program.
Of particular interest is that the LVMH Prize awards three graduates from fashion schools, who each receive €10,000 EUR and join the design team of one of the conglomerate’s brands for a year. Applications can be submitted on the LVMH Prize website until March 30.
