Here’s What Went Down at the adidas x Zalando “LIGHTSPEED” Showcase

In a recent collaboration, adidas and Zalando have taken the Adizero EVO SL to a new level, demonstrating how this high-performance shoe can also be a versatile style choice for everyday wear. After delving into its potential uses, the brands recently joined forces in Berlin to present an engaging event that further transformed the way people perceive the shoe.

At the event where the Adizero EVO SL, renowned for its ultra-lightweight design, was the star, they highlighted this unique aspect by theming it “LIGHTSPEED.” Before the big day, a CGI-inspired invitation with high-contrast colors and dynamic visuals was sent to guests, setting the stage for the show. The event’s futuristic style was amplified when the industrial Vollgutlager venue was reimagined with massive wall-to-ceiling digital screens.

As a captivated admirer, I found myself immersed in an extraordinary spectacle, meticulously designed by Setworx Berlin and Marathon Studio. The space was adorned with mesmerizing laser installations from the digital genius, Lucas Gutierrez. His works transformed the ambiance with vibrant laser screens and daring beams that illuminated my silhouette, creating a dynamic fusion of light, motion, and futuristic aesthetics. To complement this visual feast, a luminous tapestry woven by Ksawery Komputery graced the night, pulsating between intricate abstract line drawings and the captivating “LIGHTSPEED” branding, adding another layer to the sensory experience.

In another location, the Berlin label Hoe_mies recruited DJs Abiba and Meg10 from their community to perform a sequence of sets that seamlessly blended various genres. Placed prominently, their musical fusion of hip-hop and dancehall with electronic beats harmonized perfectly with the immersive visuals, encouraging guests to dance and celebrate at the same pace as light throughout the evening.
