As a gamer who’s lived through multiple console generations and countless movie reboots, the news of Happy Gilmore 2 has sent shockwaves through my gaming den. I mean, who would have thought we’d see Happy back on the greens after all these years?
Approximately two and a half decades after the initial release of “Happy Gilmore,” news about a sequel has become reality, thanks to Netflix. Speculations about Adam Sandler returning as the former hockey player-turned golf prodigy began in 2022 when he hinted at it during an interview with Variety. Since then, Netflix has announced that preparations are underway. Now, the anticipation has grown even stronger, as Netflix has issued a public call for extras to participate in “Happy Gilmore 2.”
Arranged by Grant Wilfley Casting Inc., the registration page indicates that auditions will be held on August 20 from 1 PM to 8 PM Eastern Time at the Hyatt Regency Morristown Plaza Ballroom. The real filming is scheduled between September and November 2024. No prior acting experience is necessary, and those who pass the selection process can earn $176 USD for a 10-hour job (or $216 USD for an 8-hour job if you’re a SAG-AFTRA member).
