Veronique Nichanian has once more impressed for Hermès during the Fall/Winter 2025 season. With her innovative and energetic jockey-themed collection, she managed to brighten up a somewhat somber Paris Fashion Week. Drawing inspiration from the racetrack, Nichanian weaved a narrative deeply connected to the brand’s equestrian legacy.
In her own words, the designer expressed that she aimed for this specific line to exude “strength and vigor.” She carefully selected colors, combining deep, powerful tones like “brown, coffee, bronze, chrome green, lead, taupe, slate, charcoal gray, navy, prunoir” with softer hues such as “vanilla, pebble, celadon blue, desert, rope.” Although brown is typically associated with darkness, this collection embraces its essence to create a meticulously crafted and poetic piece that highlights the allure’s intricate structure. The designer believes that during these challenging times, we need to reintroduce energy, sweetness, and happiness through our clothing.
In this rephrased version, utility jackets were displayed alongside stylish options such as bombers, parkas, raincoats, flight coats, and duffel coats, successfully combining practicality with elegance. The collection, both visually calming and thrilling, showcased a delicate balance of subtlety. By reinventing the conventional business suit, Nichanian added an element of excitement by designing a slim, arrow-shaped double-breasted suit. Following the fashion show, she commented, “I believe it’s high time to reintroduce the joy of wearing a suit, not out of necessity but for the simple pleasure of it.” Embracing traditional notions of elegance, Nichanian is infusing modern sophistication with a lively and energetic spirit.
Utility jackets shared the stage with short coats such as bombers, parkas, raincoats, flight coats, and duffel coats, merging functionality with refinement. The collection, offering both visual tranquility and excitement, displayed an exquisite balance of finesse. Nichanian revitalized the ordinary business suit by introducing a sleek double-breasted suit featuring an arrow design. After the show, she expressed her desire to “rekindle the joy of donning a suit, not because it’s expected, but for the sheer enjoyment of it.” By drawing upon classic ideals of style, Nichanian is injecting a fresh and vibrant spirit into contemporary sophistication.
