In the depths of Heroes of Hammerwatch 2, even minor advantages can make a significant difference – trinkets are no exception to this rule.
As a gamer, imagine amping up your favorite gaming tools for an even greater experience! That’s where I come into play – I’m all about fine-tuning your setup to maximize its potential.
If you find yourself unsure about how this system functions or if it’s beneficial, know that many others share your sentiment. This guide will explain the purpose of attunement.
How Does Attunement Work?
To keep it simple, attunement boosts your trinkets by doubling what they do.
Imagine you’ve got a trinket that gives you a 20% experience boost.
After adjusting it, the enhancement gains a 40% rise. In the same way, fine-tuning a trinket that currently reduces damage by 15% will lower the damage taken to 30%.
Attuning your trinkets strengthens them, giving you an edge in both fights and exploration.
Instead of placing Skill Stars on everything you come across, remember that they aren’t free, so consider where you’re using them wisely.
Stars are also limited, so make sure you’re investing in the right trinkets.
If a trinket works for your build and you’re using it the whole way, you might as well upgrade it.
Head to the Magic Anvil in the Town of The Outlook to attune your trinket.
Upon arrival, you’ll be able to employ your Skill Points to upgrade your charms. The required number of points for each charm varies, so choose wisely according to your preferences.
Just be aware that the connection with a trinket is unique to each character. So, if you bind a trinket to one individual, it won’t work for anyone else.
Each player individually takes care of their personal trinket attunement, meaning that when you’re playing together in a group, you’ll need to coordinate and take responsibility for everyone else’s as well.
You can attune a bunch of trinkets, but there’s a catch—you can only do it once for each one.
You can tweak several trinkets but don’t expect to stack upgrades on one.
To maintain fairness, this rule prevents the accumulation of multiple effects from a single trinket at once.
After a charm has been adjusted, it stays that way. It’s not necessary for all charms to be adjusted. Place Skill Stars only on the charms you frequently utilize.
If your trinket is a one-off or you’ll probably be ditching it soon, it might not be worth tuning.
Stick with the items that boost your character’s skills or match your big-picture strategy.
Once your attunements are locked in, you’re stuck with them since there’s no respec option.
That character gets a permanent upgrade when you invest Skill Stars in a trinket.
Changing your strategy during a game can pose a challenge, yet it encourages strategic thinking and careful planning prior to finalizing your choices.
If you find yourself making errors or if a particular item seems inconsistent with your plan, you won’t be able to change the alignment unless you create a new character or start anew.
A common issue for some gamers is that the user interface may not always make it clear about the statistics of an attuned trinket when it’s in its unupgraded form.
Instead of viewing the standard statistics when you move your cursor over a trinket, you’ll notice the enhanced stats appear, which could momentarily confuse you as these are not the default numbers.
To see a comparison between the updated item and its original version, simply navigate to the “Compare” section on the menu.
This keeps you in the loop on the stat changes before deciding on the attunement.
