How To Enter The Dungeon To See Theranis In Oblivion Remastered

In Oblivion Remastered, travel swiftly to Skingrad Castle, and as you follow the quest markers, you’ll come across two beggars. Pick one, offer them some coins, and inquire about Theranis’ whereabouts.

A thief bragging about stealing a book drew the attention of a nearby guard who promptly arrested him. Make your way to the dungeon in Castle Skingrad and converse with the guard. Ask if there are any open positions, and he will direct you to speak with the butler, Shum Gro-Yarug. Regrettably, despite the option being available, he won’t accept a bribe, so you must indeed secure a job.

To assume the role of Slop-Drudge, first identify where the butler can be found. If he isn’t in the main hall, inquire from other staff members about his schedule and locate him accordingly. Once you have been assigned the task, revisit the same guard to request they unlock the door for you, granting access to the dungeons and allowing you to meet the prisoners.

If players don’t mind, you can steal something cheap to get arrested and thrown in the dungeon.

Where To Find Theranis In Oblivion Remastered

In Oblivion Remastered, players should seek out Larthjar, who’s imprisoned in a concealed torture chamber, to uncover the whereabouts of Theranis. Initially, you’ll find only one inmate named Larthjar the Laggard within the dungeon. He requests your help in gaining freedom. Granting his request opens up an opportunity for you to enquire about Theranis. If you decline his plea, you must persuade him and raise his affection level beyond 40 points before asking him about Theranis.

The unfortunate burglar was repeatedly captured by the Pale Lady, and eventually he ceased his visits. Just now, his fellow inmate was seized and appears to be severely injured, as evidenced by the trail of blood on the floor. Follow the bloody footprints and engage with the appropriate candlestick to uncover a hidden pathway. Make your way to the Castle’s Wine Cellar and continue following the bloodstains until you reach three barrels. Approach the one on the far right and find the lever next to it, lifting it will unlock the middle barrel.

Enter the room to confront the Pale Lady, vanquish her, and examine her remains for two keys. Move towards her fallen form to discover it’s Theranis. Use one of the newly acquired keys to open a nearby cell, freeing Amusei. He shares a cell with Theranis and knows the whereabouts of the Lost Histories of Tamriel book; however, he is reluctant to disclose its location until you assist him in escaping the castle.

How To Help Amusei Sneak Out Of The Castle In Oblivion Remastered

In “The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered”, it’s advisable to assist Amusei in sneaking out at around 2 AM since most guards are likely asleep. With the spare key, unlock the wooden door from the wine cellar that leads to the dining hall. Ascend the stairs to discover a pantry and someone moving outside. Wait for them to depart before proceeding towards the northern gate, which leads to county hall.

Move north, be mindful of any guards patrolling, then veer towards the northeast direction toward the arch. Approach the door that leads into the courtyard, unlock it with the same key to exit. Head northeasterly to leave the castle and reach the west weald. Cross the bridge and Amusei will express gratitude and disclose the book’s location.

Head towards the eastern gate and continue moving forward until you spot a well. Look towards the west and approach the bush to find the Forgotten Chronicles of Tamriel hidden beneath it.
