Hitman: World of Assassination brings the hit revival of IO Interactive’s franchise to mobile

  • Hitman: World of Assassination is coming to mobile
  • At least on iOS, allowing you to jump into Agent 47’s adventures
  • Take on Providence, and all manner of elusive targets with either subtlety or action

During the past weekend, several notable exhibitions took place, and here are some highlights worth mentioning. Although most were centered around consoles or personal computers, there were also intriguing developments for mobile devices. One such development is that IO Interactive confirmed the release of Hitman: World of Assassination on iOS!

Gathering Hitman 1, 2, and 3 along with their expansions, Hitman: World of Assassination became the renamed version of this trilogy. In this continuation, the beloved bald assassin, Agent 47, confronts a new danger in the form of the covert organization known as Providence.

You can anticipate that this job requires you to traverse various distant, exotic locations. Places like Paris, Dubai, New York, and more are on the itinerary. Your tasks will involve carrying out assassinations, but making them appear as accidents, surprising your targets in unexpected places, or charging in with guns blazing – whatever suits you best. The World of Assassination provides a variety of open-ended missions and objectives to aid you in these hits.

A hit, man

As an eager fan, I can’t help but wonder about the pricing strategy for World of Assassination on mobile platforms. Given the fragmented nature of its offerings across other platforms – a mix of base games, DLCs, and expansions that sometimes feel confusing – it’s hard to predict how this will translate on mobile. However, if priced right, it could undeniably become an enticing bundle for gamers and a significant win for iOS.

Compared to other well-known game launches like Resident Evil that have received criticism, Hitman: World of Assassination boasts several advantages over them. Its unique long-term business strategy, a vast area of a continent currently accessible (with even more on the horizon), and the addition of new content such as the recently announced Le Chiffre elusive target featuring Mads Mikkelsen reprising his role from Casino Royale.

Regardless of the choice, we’ll be keeping an eye on Hitman: World of Assassination as it plans to launch in summer 2025. In the interim, it might be interesting to explore the recent ‘try before you buy’ update for Hitman: Blood Money – Reprisal and delve into a timeless classic from within this series prior to its latest revival.
