What is the best approach for ending a grand debut at the CinemaCon presentation, where some of the most prominent figures from Tinseltown take the stage?
If you’re in charge of Amazon MGM Studios, you might request them to end the show with an impressive group photo. Vivica A. Fox had the privilege of handling a selfie stick to take a snapshot of the talented individuals who graced the Colosseum stage at Caesars Palace during the two-hour event, marking the conclusion of a busy convention schedule on Wednesday night around 10 p.m. This was an unusual collective appearance on the main stage at CinemaCon, where stars typically appear in groups to publicize their individual films.
It’s only natural that Amazon MGM Studios would seek visual proof of the significant milestone, given its crucial point in the theatrical journey and the numerous stars they’ve showcased across blockbusters and art-house films. During their presentation, key figures like Mike Hopkins (Prime Video and Amazon MGM Studios head), Kevin Wilson (Theatrical Distribution head), Sue Kroll (Marketing head), and Courtenay Valenti (Film, Streaming, and Theatrical head) all emphasized their dedication to the cinema experience.
Hopkins declared their intention to release 15 movies annually in cinemas by 2027. “We are dedicated to making this happen for the long haul,” said Valenti during a later discussion with Kroll, “and when Amazon makes a promise, we tend to go all out.” Later on, Valenti added, “We’re creating an ambitious and varied collection of films meant for the big screen. There will be sci-fi, fantasy, action, family-friendly movies, heart-pounding thrillers, and films designed to immerse you fully.
To wrap up the event, various stars along with their directors reappeared on stage for a group picture. The following personalities were seen in that photo (with links to coverage of the event): Ben Affleck, Jon Bernthal, Daniella Pineda, Cynthia Addai-Robinson and director Gavin O’Connor from “The Accountant 2”; Ryan Gosling and directors Phil Lord and Chris Miller from “Project Hail Mary”; director Bart Layton, Halle Berry and Chris Hemsworth from “Crime 101”; Chris Pratt and director Timur Bekmambetov from “Mercy”; director Luca Guadagnino and his actors Andrew Garfield and Ayo Edebiri from “After the Hunt”; Aleshea Harris, Kara Young, Mallori Johnson and Vivica A. Fox from “Is God Is”.
