Ben and Erin Napier have been prominent personalities on HGTV since the premiere of their show, “Home Town,” in January 2016. With the conclusion of Season 9 on the 2025 TV schedule, they’ve been a dynamic duo for quite some time as parents of two. Interestingly, they began renovating homes together long before that, dating back to when they were newlyweds, more than a decade ago. Recently, they shared insights into what keeps their marriage so incredibly joyful.
What Did Ben And Erin Napier Say About Keeping Their Marriage Happy?
As a film enthusiast, let me tell you, there’s something truly captivating about the TV show “Home Town.” One reason it resonates with viewers is the charming dynamic between the Napiers. They exude love and affection for each other, handling the numerous challenges that come with renovating homes in Laurel, Mississippi, with grace and poise. Yet, they never miss an opportunity to crack a joke or tease one another, which adds a delightful touch to their storyline. Watching them is like peeking into a real-life love story, filled with laughter and camaraderie.
In a recent chat with Us Weekly, they shared more insights into what maintains the strength of their marriage, discussing not only their two daughters (Helen, aged 7, and Mae, aged 3) but also the delicate balance of family life amidst their hectic professions.
Although I may not consider myself an expert on many topics, I must say that our marriage brings me immense joy. Our relationship has spanned more time together than apart, and we’ve mastered the art of communication over the years. Nowadays, it feels so natural and easy between us.
Given that the pair, who’ve been a duo since college (that’s 20 years ago!) and tied the knot in 2008, jointly manage multiple businesses, produce their show together and, of course, invest most of their leisure time with each other as well, they must possess excellent communication skills to synchronize everything they undertake.
Ben pointed out that the pair have a knack for exchanging ideas effortlessly during conversation. However, Erin mentioned that her spouse, who managed to shed close to 100 pounds a couple of years back, is quite the romantic. He’s renowned for penning daily love notes filled with sentiments such as “I’m so happy it’s you and me,” and “I promise to strive my best for you every day.” Additionally, he takes care of their family garden, which led Erin to remark:
To me, that’s a heartfelt gesture. He always ensures there’s something new for me to pick and cook. If it’s chilly when I wake up, he’s already lit a fire. Ben aims to make everyone’s experience, even during simple moments like Tuesday morning breakfast, the best they can be.
Oh, it’s touching to see! The author, who conducted her initial interview sans Ben in 2022, goes out of her way to show affection reciprocally. For instance, she sets the coffee maker the night before so that Ben can enjoy fresh coffee each morning, and takes care of the trash. Later, Erin described this year’s Valentine’s Day celebration as a family affair. She also mentioned that the love and attention she receives from him has trickled down to their daughters.
This year, we enjoyed a candlelit pizza night with the ladies, accompanied by Italian tunes. He even surprised them with balloons, flowers, and cards. The girls are surely in for a tough time! They’ll struggle to find a partner as thoughtful and considerate as he is. All the best to them!
The Napier girls are in for a treat! Ben and Erin certainly provide an outstanding model of love and compassion, offering these young women a wonderful role model to emulate.
