- Honor of Kings: World has unveiled new gameplay after a short hiatus
- It was showcased at the recent Apple Event for September
- The event also confirmed Honor of Kings: World would be arriving sometime in 2025
As a seasoned gamer with a knack for Asian RPGs, I must admit, the resurfacing of Honor of Kings: World at the Apple Event was like finding a long-lost friend. It’s been a while since we last heard from them, and to see them on such a grand stage was quite a spectacle indeed!
After a prolonged period of no communication, Honor of Kings: World has reemerged on arguably the most significant platform possible, as fresh gameplay was unveiled at Apple’s technology exhibition. During the gaming portion of the event showcasing the upcoming iPhone 16, we finally got to see Honor of Kings: World again since their last trailer which was nearly a year old.
In the realm of Honor of Kings, the game “Honor of Kings: World” embarks players on an RPG journey that traverses extensively through its fictional landscape. This story unfolds in a mythological China, much like the original game, where it likely includes a blend of characters inspired by history and legendary figures.
The gameplay featured in the video showcase can be found approximately one hour and five minutes in. While it doesn’t offer anything particularly new, it subtly hints at the upcoming release of Honor of Kings: World for iPhone in 2025. As for other platforms, there’s currently no information available.
Game over?
One thing that I think has been missed with the recent long-standing debate about Black Myth: Wukong is something I’d relate to Honor of Kings: World, which is that it seems Chinese players are hankering for a premium game without the freemium. And while Honor of Kings: World definitely looks like it’ll offer some gorgeous graphics, I do wonder whether it can stand out now that player’s preferences have been whetted.
