I’m not referring to the already announced “Incredibles 3.” Instead, get ready for “Hoppers“, a new film that Pixar is currently working on.
At the August 2024 D23 convention, Pixar announced an all-new tale called “Hoppers.” However, you might be wondering when this film will hit theaters and who the stars will be. Here’s what we have learned thus far.
What Is The Hoppers Release Date?
Based on reports from Deadline, the movie “Hoppers” is scheduled for release on March 6th, 2026, which means it won’t be coming out in any 2025 schedule. But at least we have a definite date to eagerly anticipate this film’s arrival.
It seems logical that Hopper would also debut slightly later given that Elio is set to premiere next year. Additionally, it’s exciting news that Pixar has another two films scheduled for release over the next couple of years, which is always a treat.
The Hoppers Cast
Although details about the Hoppers cast are still scarce, some cast members have been verified, and Deadline has even disclosed a few character names. Among those confirmed are:
Piper Curda as Mabel
In the upcoming movie, it’s Piper Curda who takes on the leading role as Mabel. Notably, she has graced our screens in various TV productions such as ‘A.N.T. Farm’, ‘I Didn’t Do It’, and the miniseries ‘Youth & Consequences’. Additionally, she can be seen in the horror flick ‘The Wretched’ and the hit teen movie sequel ‘Teen Beach Movie 2’.
Bobby Moynihan as King George
In addition to his role, Bobby Moynihan will portray King George in the series Hoppers. Known as a majestic Beaver, King George is a significant character. Moynihan is a renowned comedian who spent nearly a decade as a writer and cast member on Saturday Night Live. His repertoire includes voice acting for films such as Monsters University, an often-overlooked Pixar production, and The Secret Life of Pets.
Jon Hamm
Jon Hamm is set to lend his voice to the project titled “Hoppers.” Although he is widely recognized for his role as a lead actor in “Mad Men,” he has also made notable appearances in films like “Bridesmaids,” “Baby Driver,” “Tag,” “Richard Jewell,” “Top Gun: Maverick,” “The Town,” and the Zack Snyder film, “Sucker Punch.” This is not an exhaustive list of his works.

In “Hoppers”, researchers from an unspecified era have devised a method to transfer human consciousness into lifelike robotic creatures resembling animals, which they’ve dubbed as “hopping”. This technology serves as a means for humans to communicate with animals.
In a unique twist, a girl named Mabel, passionate about animals, seizes the opportunity offered by advanced technology. Her consciousness is transferred into a beaver, allowing her to explore and understand the animal realm in ways she had never thought possible.
Indeed, this seems to be the foundation, and I must admit, I share your perplexity. Yet, my curiosity remains piqued.
Daniel Chong Is Directing
It has been confirmed by Pixar that Daniel Chong is set to direct the film titled “Hoppers.” Known for his work on “We Bare Bears: The Movie” and as a story artist for films like “Bolt,” “Cars,” “Free Birds,” “Inside Out,” and several others, we can expect that “Hoppers” will be expertly managed under his leadership.
What I’m particularly looking forward to is learning more about the content of “Hoppers” and whether it will make it onto our list of top standalone Pixar movies.
