Horror Anthology ‘V/H/S/ Beyond’ Reveals First Trailer, Adds ‘Prey’ Actor to Cast

As a longtime horror enthusiast who’s witnessed the evolution of the genre since the golden age of VHS tapes, I can’t help but feel a thrill of anticipation when I see the trailer for V/H/S/ Beyond. The franchise has always been a breeding ground for fresh talent, and this installment looks like it’s going to be no exception.


The legendary V/H/S horror anthology series is moving on to the next world. The Hollywood Reporter has unveiled the first trailer for V/H/S/ Beyond, the seventh part of the series, which started in 2012 as a collective effort showcasing various found footage short films.

The upcoming chapter delves into sci-fi horror, and will be honored at the genre-specific Fantastic Fest, taking place in Austin next month, prior to its release on the streaming platform Shudder on October 4th.

The segments in V/H/S/ Beyond consist of Stowaway, a film directed by Kate Siegel, and The Fall of the House of Usher‘s creator, Mike Flanagan, penned the script.

In a different turn of events, it’s Justin Long – famously known for his role in the horror sensation “Barbarian” – who now steps behind the camera to direct and write the script for a film titled “Fur Babies”. Simultaneously, Justin Martinez from the anthology series “V/H/S/” resurfaces with “Live and Let Dive”, a project that boasts a story co-written by Martinez and Ben Turner.

Virat Pal’s film titled “Dream Girl” marks the debut of a Bollywood production within the anthology series V/H/S/, and it was filmed in India. The script for this movie was jointly written by Virat Pal and Evan Dickson.

In the upcoming film “Stork” by Jordan Downey, it’s Dane DiLiegro who will be starring, a renowned actor from his role as The Predator in the popular 2022 Hulu series “Prey”. The script for this short movie was co-written by Kevin Stewart and Downey.

And Jay Cheel closes things out with a special presentation at the end of Beyond.

Over time, the anthology series V/H/S has showcased talent from some of the most renowned horror directors. The first edition showcased upcoming talents like Adam Wingard, Radio Silence, and Ti West.
